Nice day... Too bad my eye is swollen shut with periorbital cellulitis. :(

But my one good eye sees beautiful sunshine over a mostly (but no longer totally) snow covered landscape.

I bet your solar effect there is enhanced by the snow cover.    No idea what that eye issue is but it does not sound good.

Side note... the Seattle NWS was wrong about the bluest skies as there is a slight white haze to the sky from very thin high clouds passing through.    Or more likely wildfire smoke from CA.   😀

You live on the west side of the west hills correct? Sometimes the terrain can help mix down the east wind in that area while other spots stay calm.

Yeah, just west of the west hills. East wind can get strong here a lot of times I've noticed. I wasn't here in December but from the WRF it looks like we might've seen 55+mph gusts. I don't think I've seen south wind at that level anytime recently.

Currently 55.3 after a low of 27. Looks like I could get my 70th freeze tonight.

The sun angle makes it feel like its a nice spring day and honestly almost makes it feel like it’s summer because of how late summer went last year the sun angles now are a lot higher than when we ended summer temp wise last year. Though temps aren’t nearly as warm now but it’s still really nice!

Crazy to think on the last sunny day with east winds highs were struggling to reach 30. Just over three weeks ago.

Last year we had almost the opposite too. 67 with East winds on 2/11 then 38 with East winds on 2/22

Good point.   Last fall was so strange.   So hot and smokey with a relatively low sun angle.   Pretty surreal.

Relative humidity dropped to 9% here today, which is quite rare. Feels weird, like the air is super light and has no temperature.

SEA actually went down a degree in the last hour to 53 with a switch in the wind to NW.

58 out here with a light east wind.

About the same here.  Certainly warmer than I expected today, but we were due.  First 60 is three weeks late.

Hell yeah! I hope a strong el nino develops! I hope the entire west sees a wet muggy summer, especially in California. Then in winter the west gets hammered by mrga storms!

What a beautiful day!

Nothing wrong with 40s and drizzle of course... but when you get to the fifth month of it in a row it sure is nice to see some variety.

Was a dry winter overall with lots of variability, some snow events, east winds, sunny days, etc. Hardly five months of 40s and drizzle. Lots of sun in November and the first 2-3 weeks of December. Then again in late January/early February. But I know you really love to whine about whatever the weather’s been doing recently 💗

Hopefully too aggressive again and we have a weak Nino.   But then will probably have a strong Nino the next winter.

Looks like 58/29 here today.  Hope to see a lot of this type of weather this spring.  I'm betting on quite a few more frosty mornings.

Have to agree with much of this.  This didn't strike me as a 40s and drizzle type of winter.  Of course, January had a few rotten weeks, but we have come to expect that.

Definitely did not feel like a rainy winter here.   Lots of variety.

Fair. It was overall a pretty enjoyable winter and had a lot to offer. I guess I'm really just ready for spring at this point.

Speaking of radiation, an analysis was done for radiation this winter - looks like Western WA actually was slightly less sunny than normal this winter? Nearly one full standard deviation cloudier than normal.
