Light snow and 35° up here in the TC. Forecast is 3-6"

Some dry air moving in. Going to be tough to even reach 3” with the way the radar is looking. NWS may have jumped the gun with a WWA.  We’ll see what happens this evening once the sun goes down.

Just measured again and surprised it's adding up as much as it did. I'm up to 4" and some spots it's nearing 5" on the grass and frozen part of the driveway. It's so heavy and wet there's barely any drifting despite a decent wind. Chunks are dropping off the trees because of melting.

I see they lowered it to 2-4" now. It's been a nuisance snow. Still 35°. I think tonight we score a bit of accumulation.

My total is 3.2 inches.  The rest of the snow should be generally light.

The liquid total is 0.38".

Radar is pretty broken up in terms of rain. Developed better to the east and south.
Maybe it will form still.
I’d like some rain.

I'm sitting at 3.5", currently in a lull.  I'm hoping the final band, over central Iowa, can get my total to 4".

That's pretty impressive considering how the models have overhyped everything this season and how these March snowstorms almost always end up massively disappointing. I'm just hoping most of this falls after the ski hill closes so I can wake up and make some fresh tracks. It's sticking pretty well up here in grass and stuff, took a while to start on the streets.

Snow forecasted to begin falling here at 10:00 am Friday

Was out and about on a tadpole trike cruising across multiple neighbor's snow covered fields like they were troweled cement. Frozen solid and smooth except for where the sled's had left their bumpy tracks.

Did this once in the early 80's in Toronto, On. Again around 2001 in Waterdown, On. and..... tonight 2023, in Lynden On. Canada.

Up to 20 cm possible (yah... right!)

Warnings

10:55 PM EST Thursday 09 March 2023
Snowfall warning in effect for:

  • City of Hamilton

Significant snowfall expected Friday.

Hazards:
Snow with total accumulations of 10 to 15 cm. Local snowfall amounts of 15 to 20 cm over higher terrain.
Visibility may be reduced at times in heavy snow and local blowing snow.

D**n, parts of GRR got up to 12" of snow.

Not sure how much the official snow fall amount will be. Here in my yard I have between 5 to 5.5" on the ground and everything has snow on it. The trees the power lines it looks like a Christmas Card picture. There is still light snow falling here at the current time.

I am already in spring mode amigo. It should have been like this back during the cold winter months, not now. At least now w all this snow back to back, maybe my seasonal snow will be just about average. So far, Romulus airport has picked up 3.8" and still several more hours to go.

Ya me too but I think it's going to be awhile before it feels like spring consistently.  I'm ready for some warm air and days camping in the Ozarks.

yeah, Roads are fine.  Warm ground. The first band that came in was about 40dbz.  My snowblower chute clogged several times.  By 8:00 this morning I measure 6" on my car, 7" on my patio table and about 5" on the grass.  Definitely melted some.  But intense snowfall rates overnight.

I have a group text with my family, and i was telling them that these storms tend to overperform.  GFS was bad here.  But the NAM and short range models nailed the band over GRR.   Although the models only called for 6-8", they nailed the positioning.

102.8 inches of snow in Grand Rapids!!!! WOW....sounds like it was a snowy winter there. More to come in what looks to be a very cold pattern for them the rest of the month.
