The White House recently received a sobering warning about the potential for the coronavirus to come roaring back, with experts reaching a consensus that there’s a roughly 20 percent chance during the next two years of an outbreak rivaling the onslaught of illness inflicted by the omicron variant.

 

A forecast from one widely regarded scientist pegged the risk at a more alarming level, suggesting a 40 percent chance of an omicron-like wave.

White House officials spoke with about a dozen leading experts in virology, immunobiology and other fields about the prospect that the virus would again develop mutations that allow it to evade protections from vaccines and treatments. Those discussions, not previously reported, came as the administration plan for the May 11 end of the public health emergency that was declared at the dawn of the pandemic.

It’s all good…We might not be around anyway. I heard “we” (according to the Kremlin) tried to take out Putin the other day so those little angry hornets are getting even more stirred up and pissed off now.

Apparently an old lady had a stockpile of pasta and when she died a relative was cleaning out the house and dumped the 500lbs of it by the river. Moisture caused the pasta to of course expand and there you have it!

63% feel he is mentally unfit. I’m sure that will improve dramatically a year from now because that’s how aging and decline work.

I think the world is perfect as it is and we should change nothing. We as a species are currently perched atop the zenith of human condition. Any change from here on out would be an objective downgrade by default. Everyone is as happy as they individually could be, and our infrastructure is perfectly optimized.

When presented with the alternative, "mentally unfit" does not seem so bad, hence the cited improvement as the election draws nearer.

It’s a poll. If you wanna attack it’s impartiality, be my guest. Trump is bonkers and a pathological narcissist, but he does not exhibit nearly as many signs of cognitive decline as Biden.

I take two a day.  A short one in the morning to wake up and a normal one at night.  I get bad sleep without a shower.  It just feels gross.
