Cold Front, Wind and Snow I-95 Corridor Jan 29-31 2019

Recommended Posts

Looks like the strongest banding is about to arrive here as we move past 330pm..

Sky is darkening/changing shade, wind picking up a little bit as snowfall rates begin to increase.

Closing in on an inch here. That was fast, considering we’re still above freezing and still had wet ground as recently as 3pm.

Down to 33.1/31 as of 4:13pm. Would love to drop a degree or two more and avoid that dryslot to the south, but alas..

Finished with about 1.1” on the ground (with compaction).

Nice little event, solid burst at the end to make up for the warm/mixy start. Now attention turns to the Arctic front tomorrow.

Potential for heavy squalls and 50-60mph gusts right along the front.

Low was 14.5*F here this morning, now warming rapidly ahead of the Arctic front. Wind advisory starts at 9AM but big gusts probably arrive midday.

Up to 19.4/16.
