I just can't think of anything that would be a seasonal analog to this pattern. Maybe February 1990 on steroids? But did that have a Fraser River component? This seems more comparable to some of our great January blocking episodes.

It's crazy. If this plays out as currently modeled, it would blow 1990 out of the water. The Fraser River component with that was weaker, but mainly it simply wasn't super-cold very long regionally.

 

Simply nothing like this has happened this late in the season since the 1800s. Again...as currently modeled.

The overpass is the only roads that will be above the snow depth by the time this is done. Fricken beyond Beleavuble!!

Costco 4th ave is a zoo right now with people stocking up.  Lots of people were asking about de-icer and duraflames.  Unfortunately, they were out of both and the seasonal section is now filled with swimming goggles, sunblock and beach towels.  I did happen to see Rich Marriott in line. 

Good Costco report. I miss going to the SODO one, was weird to see a costco in a city like Seattle yet it did not feel like it was out of place.

Is there a good site that gives the forecasted outflow through Fraser? And/or that shows the strength of the arctic high pressure?  I saw someone mention 1061 mb, but I can't find a good map for it.
