SilverFallsAndrew
Models seem to be hinting at things for next week...residual model noise or are we just going to have a one week lull in the action before getting slammed again? I can’t think of many past events that featured that long of a break. Few days sure, but over a week? I’m sure it has happened but I just cannot think of any off hand. I'm thinking next week will be cooler and more active than this week ended up being. Pretty troughy it looks like. All the models and their ensembles tend to agree on this. I think the bigger question is what happens after next week. Do we see a true pattern change or do we stay in this cool pattern. 1 Snowfall Precip 2022-23: 95.0" 2022-23: 17.39" 2021-22: 52.6" 2021-22: 91.46" 2020-21: 12.0" 2020-21: 71.59" 2019-20: 23.5" 2019-20: 58.54" 2018-19: 63.5" 2018-19: 66.33" 2017-18: 30.3" 2017-18: 59.83" 2016-17: 49.2" 2016-17: 97.58" 2015-16: 11.75" 2015-16: 68.67" 2014-15: 3.5" 2013-14: 11.75" 2013-14: 62.30 2012-13: 16.75" 2012-13: 78.45 2011-12: 98.5" 2011-12: 92.67" It's always sunny at Winters Hill! Phil
Sure has slowed down here. I almost got used to having to catch up on 4-5 new pages if I wasn't logged on for a few hours. It’s still insane..I used to gave a busy day and could catch up in 5 minutes. Now it takes 20 minutes + I want to reply to every other post. 1 Live Weather Cam: https://www.youtube.com/live/KxlIo8-KVpc?si=xKLCFYWbZieAfyh6 PWS Wunderground https://www.wunderground.com/dashboard/pws/KMDBETHE62 PWS CWOP/NOAA: https://www.weather.gov/wrh/timeseries?site=F3819&hours=

Phil
I'm going to be in NYC for almost a month in March and I'm hoping there's a freak warm spell!Ha, good luck. March is colder than November out here, but given all the rules this year as broken maybe we’ll string some 90 degree days together or something. Phil
If we were looking at definite snow chances coming up I would be all for it, but drippy cold rain that we are looking at now just doesn’t make me very enthusiastic. MossMan
What is wrong with you guys?38 degree drizzle does not fascinate me. 18 degrees with snow falling like last week...that fascinated me. 31 degree big snowfalls also does the trick. Windstorms...BIG events! If we are looking at boring weather I would rather it be sunny and mild. 2 Elevation 580’ Location a few miles east of I-5 on the Snohomish Co side of the Snohomish/Skagit border. crf450ish
What is wrong with you guys?I'll tell you....when you live somewhere where when the snow falls and the wind doesn't typically blow....when it does snow, it just keeps accumulating vertically. Add that to the fact that a warm-up is almost always inevitable and what you end up with a slushy hole of a mess that ruins yards and driveways and causes flooding and damage. Most people in Western wa love the snow but when it warms up, they just want it to get warm and melt the snow and dry things out as quick as possible. At least that's my thought process. Most people in Western wa love the snow but when it warms up, they just want it to get warm and melt the snow and dry things out as quick as possible. At least that's my thought process.Last evening was kind of crappy. Most of the snow had fallen off the trees and it was a 34 degree dripfest. Not the lovely low DP’s that we were getting used to over the last week. A little better today. But yeah, let’s keep it around with highs in the low 30’s and low DP’s or let’s just hit the 50’s and get rid of the slush. 1 Elevation 580’ Location a few miles east of I-5 on the Snohomish Co side of the Snohomish/Skagit border. Most people in Western wa love the snow but when it warms up, they just want it to get warm and melt the snow and dry things out as quick as possible. At least that's my thought process.I average 95 inches of snow per year. Once the melting starts, usually in early to mid March, you do want it to melt fast. But our grass is accumulated to snow and rebounds quite nicely. Proper fertilization and maintenance helps with that. We dont have much of a problem with flooding, though the river here will rise and some walking paths close to the river have to be diverted for a few weeks.
