Related question for all of you with more knowledge that me: What is the biggest factor in snow falling when surface temps are above freezing?

OMG!  The ECMWF is colder this evening.  Major snow!

Here is a map showing how the east wind will wall off the south wind at the King / Pierce County line.

Would love this to verify. If this happens they will almost surely shut down the office for tomorrow.

Wednesday afternoon.    Actually a bit warmer in the Seattle area that day than the 00Z run as precip is much farther away.  Looks like upper 30s and its almost totally sunny as well.

I just feel that last nights weird procession of events threw a major wrench in their beliefs about today. Hopefully last night was just a DEAD CAT BOUNCE and today and thru tomorrow will be epic in terms of the whole Olympia north and environs just get plastered with 12-24 inches of new.

While I would love to see that too, I wouldn't hold my breath.

Yep the WAA gets stuck in the swamp and we get gradient CAA which would help immensely.

Really? And you're in Edmonds? Nothing in NE Seattle at the moment.

At work in Tukwila. Must've missed my comment from a few minutes earlier  :)

That looks fantastic! Though it appears my area will be getting shadowed a bit today/this evening. Can’t have it all though I guess, haha

Elevation 580’ Location a few miles east of I-5 on the Snohomish Co side of the Snohomish/Skagit border. I love snow/cold AND sun/warmth!

Looks like it's snowing there now 005vc07860.jpg?t=636854768890233780

I guess the radar precip type is wrong.  This bodes well.

Cliff Mass still saying only a few inches for most of the central and south puget sound, guess he isnt buying the Euro numbers.

He trusts the WRF over the ECMWF.  Since the Christmas snow last winter I'm a Euro man.  It nailed that storm dead on.  Only model to do so.

Is there any chance this model actually pans out? 9" at Boeing Field and SeaTac??? What would we need for this to happen? South winds to die down? The low to stall or move south? Strong easterlies in King County?

The wall of east winds that are being shown.  It kills the south wind.

No real cool down from the 00Z ECMWF on the new 12Z run for the Wed-Sat period. Might be a tad warmer actually. Lots of low 40s from Bellingham to Eugene.
