February 2019 Weather Observations and Discussion Part 2

What a crazy day. Snow all morning, then some snow and sleet, then some sleet and zr, and now back to snow and the temp IMBY is 27. Streets are slushy due to the higher sun angles but temps are already dropping and the shady spots are iced up already. Temps look to cool to the lower 20’s overnight with off and on snow showers. Roads will be a mess again tomorrow. Worst driving conditions I’ve experienced here in awhile.

Started off as rain but had switched to snow both at Barkley Village and at my house off Britton Rd

Started flaking again out there. Now there is only 2-3" inches in much of the yard. That rain mass murdered all the white that was there.

Wsdot said Washington central cascades were above normal. Most everywhere should be close to normal after the next few weeks. The last three years have really brought up the average in the Washington cascades and looks like this year will do the same.

Yeah some of these areas in the yellow parts are running quite normal right now. I very much doubt my part of Oregon had more snow than central Cascades.

. So far it hasn’t been too bad. Most of the time it is a lot worse and goes from one extreme to another very quickly. So far it has been a very slow moderation/melting.

Got up to 51 but back down to 42 now. Out and about around town tonight.

After checking my weather station it appears my temp spiked to 45 degrees today before cooling. Had a low this morning of 26. Currently 36 with .18 in the rain gauge.

Coastal waters definitely cooled off BC, OR and WA in the last week.

Got engaged there at a restaurant named Ports many moons ago. We also used to take the Princess Marguerite there. Good memories

Had a high of 37 today and that is 12 days in a row colder than 38 for a high!. Currently 32.8 and a light mix with still about 18 inches of snow on ground.

This yard lost about a half of a foot from all the rain.

Sitting at 32F here in Victoria with moderate snow, looks like a little over an inch of snow here so far. This makes the 5th consecutive day. I was downtown when one of the heavier showers came through earlier. It's sticking to the trees here but definitely slushier at lower elevations.
