Minny_Weather
I'm actually really glad this wasn't a snow event now. We spent most of the storm in a monster dry slot. The dry slot works to our favor cuz we didn't need rain. There's a bit of ponding from whatever fell before sunrise but nothing major and some of that may be snowmelt. Hawkeye
This system has been kind of a dud down here as well. For days, all models had 0.70-1.00" of rain falling across eastern Iowa. We didn't even get a half inch, less than any run of any model has ever shown. The main band moved through too quickly, and the second band crapped out before reaching the area. In addition, the temp has been stuck in the 33-35º range today, not the upper 30s some models suggested. It looks like barely any snow melted... an inch at most. Beltrami Island
Been snowing since noon here. Snowing hard the last couple hours. NWS says 8-12" total for me but it's a typical wet March snowfall with light winds and no cold front to worry about...feels pretty tame compared to the blizzard of a couple weeks ago. jaster220
33.5F and rain here despite ASOS reporting "Light Snow" for the past 2 hrs lol. Winds are the big news here. Very tropical storm-like evening out there aside from the temps. Per radar it looks like some more thump snows for NMI this evening. 2 Quote Winter 2023-24 Snow Total = 52.8" (89% Normal Season) Largest Storm: 12" (1/12-13) Oct: 0.1 Nov: 2.9 Dec: 7.5 Jan: 31.7 Feb: 6.0 Mar: 4.1 Apr: 0.0 Avg = 59.2" (Harrison): 2023-24 = xx.x" Avg = 45.0" (KDTW): 2022-23 = 33.5" 2021-22 = 35.6" Avg = 49.7" (KRMY): 2020-21 = 36.2" 2019-20 = 48.0" 2018-19 = 56.1" 2017-18 = 68.3" 2016-17 = 52" 2015-16 = 57.4" 2014-15 = 55.3" 2013-14 = 100.6" (coldest & snowiest in the modern record!) 2012-13 = 47.2" 2011-12 = 43.7" Legit Blizzards (high winds and dbl digit snows): Feb 2011, Dec 2009, Jan 2005, Dec 2000, Jan 1999, Mar 1998, Nov 1989, Jan 1982, Jan 1978, Jan 1977, Apr 1975, Mar 1973, Jan 1967, Feb 1965, Jan 1918
WBadgersW
Dang roads are are a complete mess. We've had rain, Fzr, Sleet, and snow. Plows were not ready for this.
Stormy
I ended up with 0.99" of rain here. That's about what was expected. Would've been nice to hear some thunder, but it fizzled out in southern Ia. Seems to take forever to melt the ice and waterlogged snow. OmahaSnowFan
This might be the strongest the winds have blown all day after the storm passed and it’s 930 at night. Normally you get the surge in strong winds right with the wind direction switch
Minny_Weather
Well this is kinda a disaster. We had a bit of ZR a couple hours ago. Combine that with flash frozen snowmelt and wet roads from earlier and roads are a complete circus right now. Worst part is people don't even know the roads are icy until they're up on the curb. I feel lucky to have made it home from the hockey game in one piece. Quote Formerly *ahem*: LNK_Weather, TOL_Weather, FAR_Weather, MSP_Weather, IMoveALot_Weather. Iowawx
Got 0.48" of rain today from this storm. I was expecting a bit more based on models. Snowpack did not melt much at all, as we never got higher than 34 degrees.

Stormy
My poor new anemometer sure is getting a workout so far this year with plenty of windy days! Top gust here so far today was 48 mph. St Paul Storm
Still snowing very lightly. Picked up about 5” of heavy, wet snow. Some of my trees and bushes are really being weighed down by the snow.
