This forecast for the Texas panhandle looks practically Martian!

Never seen a forecast mention blowing dust with a high of 9 degrees before.

Looks like the arctic front is a bit past Casper, WY. Usually in these situations that means it's around 6 hours from Denver.

Which would mean it will be hitting here about 3 hours faster than forecast.

Weather app says 51 degrees right now and there's some blowing dust. Can't wait for the Arctic front to make it here

It seems to have really slowed down just north of Cheyenne. May not reach here until 6 or so after all.

It hit Cheyenne about 30 minutes ago - dropped from 42 to 2 in one hour lol. 

Should reach Denver around 4-5.

Drove up to Brighton about 30 min north of Denver to make sure to catch the frontal passage in daylight - and I did! Temp just dropped from 50 to 15 in 20 minutes...pics to come. 

Doinko looks like it should hit Denver any minute.

Light snow and down to 3 at my house. Heavier bands setting up north of the city and starting to sag south.

Here's what the approaching front looked like. Was still around 45 when I took these pics, 15 minutes later was in the teens.

Aw, bummer you aren't in Broomfield. Buddy up there says they already have 4".

At around 2" here in Denver and it's getting heavier.

Just left Broomfield yesterday. Too bad I missed it! How much do you think Highlands Ranch could get? It doesn't seem like as much but a few inches would be great

All depends on where the bands enhance, but I'd be surprised if you don't end up with at least 2-3" with these ratios.

Mostly stopped snowing and it looks like the band has shifted south. Looks like a good few inches so far

As cold as this morning is, tonight could potentially be colder. Models are also keeping the cold more entrenched for the next few days.

Actually 3.5". I think a band of moderate-heavy snow set up over us for a bit in the night. Fantastic event to experience.

DEN back down to -16 after topping out at -7 today. Models have leaned towards not going near as cold as this morning...but if winds remain light, I could see DEN spotting another -20+ tonight.

DEN hit -20 last night. -13 in my backyard. Easily the coldest 2 day stretch here in many years.

Up to 12 now and feels balmy.

NWS Denver put out a report about the windchills yesterday, but didn't even mention that DEN came within 1 degree of their all-time record.

I'll be in Denver for AMS Jan 8-13 so I'll return to this thread briefly when the weather gets more certain  Hoping to get some snow while I am there.

Well, we went from historic cold to blowtorching (high of 62 today). But there's a fairly potent looking storm moving in tomorrow. Models are giving Denver anywhere between 4-8" tomorrow night, but for some reason NWS is only saying accumulation around an inch.

Latest model runs now dump 6-10" tonight on Denver, after a brief period of rare late December rain to start. Looks like a very dynamic storm, should be fun.

I’m in Breckinridge and it’s snowed 2” here since 3PM. Looks like Denver will probably get more than here with this storm though since they have a lot more moisture to work with but it’s absolutely gorgeous here.

Absolutely dumping here. 3" since the switchover happened about 90 minutes ago. 

Exact opposite of the super dry fluff we saw during last week's record cold, this is PNW-grade, heavy and wet.

Sounds just like what we had here last Tuesday (12/20).   We got 3 inches in about 90 minutes after the rain turned to snow.
