Bozeman Airport and in town are set to break all sorts of daily record lows and highs over the next couple of days. BZN also pulled off a -43.1F departure yesterday. All the numbers are still coming in but I see that Elk Park Dropped down to at least -25F. Cheyenne had a high of 11 yesterday, which ties their all-time October coldest high. Casper, WY set their all-time October low with -8 (previous record -3 from 1971) and also their coldest October high on record with 10 (previous record 13, also from 1971). Going to be interesting to see where we go from here. Edit: 1949 did see a major cold wave in October but it was around mid month and not nearly as impressive as the current one this year. Nothing like 1919 or 1935 but you're right for a Nina it's a decent match. 1971 coldest highs were around 20 and lows around zero and that airmass was a quick 2-3 day hit. We've been below freezing here since last Wednesday evening.
