It's completely unedited actually. Gotta love that Montana alpenglow.

There is no such thing as a green filter that I have ever seen.  And if there was... then the sky and other objects were appear green too.    And then how would the sky look so blue??   😀

This one from Sunday shows the red, green, yellow, and blue filters all competing against each other... and yet the cottonwoods look sort of dull.  ;)

I noticed that this pic looks more normal on my computer.   Viewing it on my phone makes its looks very red.

I’m just giving you a hard time after you dissed my photo! Trust me, the fire sky and the pink/purple snow was what you would have seen with your naked eye as well!

We had a few nice days in Phoenix finally. I had a low of 44 this morning and a high of 70. Looks like low 90s return by the weekend so thats unfortunate.

I enjoyed the photos and commentary from Montana and Colorado though. What a fun storm!

My friends from my old neighborhood said they got about 5" of snow, with most of SLC seeing 1-3". They also set a record low which is tough to do there.

Models are really struggling with how to handle an ULL for next weekend. GFS is showing absolutely insane snowfall amounts whereas the Euro/CMC want to dig the trough a little more SW with much lesser snow amounts. Will be interesting to see how this one plays out.

Things are really up in the air but the 06z GFS run was sure fun to look at! Massive area of widespread 4ft snowfall totals with nearly 6ft of snow In Great Falls!

I think you unfortunately moved to Phoenix during one of the hottest and most uneventful periods they have ever had! The monsoon was really a no-show this summer, just like in the rest of the Southwest.

The high in Phoenix was 96 degrees yesterday, which tied the monthly record high for November. That's the 3rd monthly record high we've tied or broken this year.

GFS continues to not back down on snowfall amounts. The Euro/CMC are actually beginning to trend towards the GFS so it's looking more and more likely that a major long duration winter storm is on the way this weekend.

Major winter storm is knocking on the door here. Snowfall totals and rates continue to look incredibly impressive with very strong frontal divergence. Where exactly the TROWAL sets up will decide which areas see the most impressive snowfall totals. Right now, the heavy snow band looks like it wants to setup from Bozeman up through Great Falls.

Nonetheless, 20-30+" of snowfall look likely over the large majority of Central Montana.

If this verifies, could you possibly take videos and tons of photos? This could be truly epic.

I'll do my best! Looks like things will be most epic further north where there is a Blizzard Warning but we should still see some deep accumulations and strong winds!

Currently 12 degrees with a windchill of -6 with sustained winds around 20-25mph. Near whiteout conditions with heavy snowfall.

Really tough to get an accurate measurement but I averaged out 7" so far. Many 15-18" drifts. Awesome storm!

Hovered around 10-11 degrees all day today with moderate snowfall. About a foot on the day but tough to measure with all the drifting. Currently 9F with light snowfall continuing.

Put some lights up before the storm hit!

Been relatively cool in Phoenix the last few days with lows in the low 40s and highs in the mid 60s. We will be back to the 70s today and possibly close to 90 in a week. Oh boy!

At least I am actively working on getting out of here.

If I had my way I'd prefer one of the Rocky Mountain offices such as SLC, Flagstaff, or Boulder. I'd consider some of the offices in the midwest through the northeast where you would lose some snow but gain thunderstorm activity.

My wife wants to go to south Texas though. Obviously not much snow to be had there but anything would be better than this hell-hole. I guess we will see but I imagine within 6 months I'll be able to secure a transfer.

Been a boring couple of weeks here, but looks like we could actually see some weather soon.

Latest GFS is saying a couple inches of snow Tuesday morning, although temps will be marginal.

Other models/runs have hinted at a potential storm in the region for Fri/Sat, but a lot still up in the air for that. But at least seasonably cool weather for most of the foreseeable future.

Over performer here this morning. Was forecast to get 1-3" and ended up with 8".

That's one of the things I always find amazing about Colorado. Seems like storms can easily come in way above expectations, or way below other times. In SLC, I can't think of a single case where a 1-3" storm ended up above 6". It was almost always equal or less than the forecast.

Yeah, SLC doesn't get as many big storms in general. I think the topography of the Front Range and the upslope component allows for more dynamic potential here, along with higher unpredictability.

I'd say about 60% of the snowstorms here fall within the forecasted amounts, and the rest fall short or exceed expectations.

Continues to be comfortable in Phoenix with highs in the upper 60s to mid 70s each day. That looks to continue but with minimal rain chances.
