Thought I’d post this in both forums. Very interesting strong solar storm coming potentially viewable as far south as the equator.

Dr Tamitha Skov, a space weather physicist tweeted yesterday: "Direct Hit! NOAA & NASA prediction models show solar storm to hit Earth between 12:00 and 21:00 UTC on March 13.

"Impact should be strong! Expect aurora deep into mid-latitudes, amateur radio & GPS reception issues, especially near dawn/dusk, and on Earth's nightside!"

Enjoy!

Looking like some 90s will occur in the next 10 days here. It's getting to that time of year.

Hopefully you can get another storm or two before winter ends.

Down here it's looking like our first hot stretch coming up with mid 90s for a day or two next weekend.

I can't believe how dry it has been in CA and the rest of the Southwest ever since the beginning of January! I hope we can manage to get a couple of decent storms before this season ends. I know that the Front Range region of CO has been doing better since January after being really dry in the fall with that terrible wildfire that destroyed a bunch of homes late last year.

Ended up with 96F on Friday, with 93F yesterday and 92F so far today. Pretty good cold front swings through Monday and Tuesday with rain likely and maybe a thunderstorm. I hope we get a good soaking to delay fire season a few more weeks.

Another heatwave is coming and we will be pushing 100 F for a few days but it does look like a return to more reasonable weather heading into next week...maybe even another chance of rain!

More of the same going on here, hot and dry. PHX airport at 0.55" I believe for Jan-present. Probably our first 105 degree day by Sunday.

We peaked at 105F yesterday. The dew point depression was around 100F. Looks like a slow decline to the upper 90s the next few days.

The first few days of the month were nice and wet, but zilch since 5/4, and it doesn't look promising for much more in the next week or so.
