Front Ranger
4 straight sub-freezing highs, which is fairly notable for this late in the season. Next we torch for 3-4 days next week, before entering another cooler and potentially snowy pattern in about a week. 1 Quote A forum for the end of the world. Front Ranger
Picked up another 5" of snow over the weekend. Up to 48" on the season...right about average for this point now. Went from one of the worst Oct-Dec on record here for snowfall, to one of the best for the first 9 weeks of the year. Pretty remarkable. 1 Quote A forum for the end of the world. Andie
Thought I’d post this in both forums. Very interesting strong solar storm coming potentially viewable as far south as the equator. Dr Tamitha Skov, a space weather physicist tweeted yesterday: "Direct Hit! NOAA & NASA prediction models show solar storm to hit Earth between 12:00 and 21:00 UTC on March 13. "Impact should be strong! Expect aurora deep into mid-latitudes, amateur radio & GPS reception issues, especially near dawn/dusk, and on Earth's nightside!" Enjoy! Dan the Weatherman
I can't believe how dry it has been in CA and the rest of the Southwest ever since the beginning of January! I hope we can manage to get a couple of decent storms before this season ends. I know that the Front Range region of CO has been doing better since January after being really dry in the fall with that terrible wildfire that destroyed a bunch of homes late last year.
