Minny_Weather
This appears to be inevitable. Looks like game time temps will be in the low to mid 30s with snow likely. Will be interesting to see if they cancel the game or not. Opening day is a huge deal downtown...a lot of people will lose a lot of money.I think the freezing line is the threshold for most venues. Detroit cancelled last night when it was 29°F. I know Minnesota just flat out never cancels though. Has Colorado ever cancelled due to cold temps? It ain't easy to pitch when it gets below 50 or so. Kayla
Picked up 4.5" of snow in about 90 minutes here this evening with a strong cold front that was forecasted to be all rain. Even the airport switched over to snow rather quickly with this event. This incredible season just continues to overachieve somehow. Still some light snow showers around currently. We may get another burst of snow tomorrow morning and once again tomorrow night. 7 days into our second snowiest month of the year and I'm already sitting at 19" of snowfall on the month. Kayla
Yet another big snow storm is approaching tonight here in Montana with Winter Storm Warnings up. Looks like Billings and Havre will shatter their all-time snowiest winters by tomorrow. Of course Great Falls already broke their all-time snowfall record a couple weeks back. Bozeman is slowly inching closer to its all-time snowfall record of 158.5" sitting at 131.2" on the season currently. Looks like the NWS is going with 4-6" in Bozeman tomorrow which honestly looks like it could be on the low end according to the latest 00z model runs. I'd go with 6-8" in town and 8-12" on my rooftop. Kayla
Overnight model runs have increased snowfall amounts even further this morning. Looking like 8-12" in Bozeman now and 12-18" just south of town IMBY. Looks like we could easily see 2-3" per hour of heavy wet snowfall rates beginning late this morning and continuing into this evening. Very possible this storm ends up breaking my highest daily snowfall (16.6" back on 12/20) total on the season. Front Ranger
Unreal, Kayla. DEN hit 79 yesterday, tying a low-hanging fruit record from 1976, and is expected to get near 80 again today.
