Yesterday barely cracked 60F and my low was 40F this morning. Chilly!

Today its a pleasant 68F under sunny skies, can't beat that. Looks like a warming trend the next few days.

Final snow total?

Was kind of a bust, thankfully. Snowed all night but didn't accumulate a whole lot. Only ended up with an inch or so.

Picked up an inch of much needed precipitation here over the weekend along with the cool temps. Avoided a freeze as well, only dropping down to 33F.

Mountains are beautifully snow capped once again this morning.

Still no 90s in sight here.

Thursday could be close here, but probably won't quite make it, which will take us into mid June with no 90s.

I’m glad to see the 4CH not absolutely dominating the intermountain west at this stage. That is a bit of a departure from recent scorching summers.

The dominant theme this year seems to be a blocking ridge near the west coast. If it ends up more offshore, you have a summer like 2008. If it's more inland, you have a summer like 2009.

So far, it's been more 2009...

Only 6 90+ days in Bozeman in 2009. I'm okay with that.

Even better, 1997 which was the last time that there were zero 90+ days.

Happy to see snow in June and swearing off any possible heat even for novelty sake which is what 6 days is essentially. Are you part eskimo? :)

Call me an eskimo but anything above 85 is too hot for me!  :)

1997 still saw quite a few 90+ days here. 2009 was much cooler.

1967 is the gold standard for cool summers here. Didn't see a 90+ day until 7/21, and ended up with just four.

Yep, and the building ridge over your area doesn't look to extend down to the 4 corner region either. I'm fine with that.

Yeah... I get that.   Me too.    But its only a few hours of each of those few days.   Seems so minor and brief compared to all the other uncomfortable weather you have there for months on end.    And its a novelty.    ;)

No one is arguing that the heat here is oppressive or long lived. I'm just saying that I'd be perfectly happy to see another summer without any 90+ days. There will still be plenty of beautiful warm days this summer and in my opinion I enjoy being outside doing activities without losing 5 pounds of water weight.  ;)

I agree.

It just seems like such a minor thing for your area and for my area in terms of disrupting our comfort... considering we have so many other ways to achieve truly uncomfortable weather that lasts soooooo much longer.

Chance of a few thunderstorms today, and maybe again in about a week. While not super wet anymore, its better than how it often is this time of year.

First green glow cloud deck of the season passed right over Bozeman this afternoon. Probably over a hundred lightning strikes swept over the area with very heavy rain/hail.

Dropped nearly 3/4" of precip in Bozeman in about 20 minutes. Gotta love summer storms!

More heavy rain and lightning this morning but it's all worth it to wake up to a view like this.

The trees/vegetation are loving this wet, stormy weather.

I had a little rain and a great lightning display yesterday. Apparently there was a gust to 68 mph at the airport from a microburst.

No good chance of rain in the next week on any given day, but lots of 20-30% chance days.

A sharp cold front will move through by Friday. Highs in the 60s seem possible, which is always nice this time of year.

I'd imagine that's close to record cold maxes there this time of year.

The two coldest days have some really cold record maxes. Apparently the 21st had a high of 48F in 1916. I can't even imagine that lol

Strong cold front set to move in here as well tomorrow afternoon dropping highs into the the 50's on Thursday and Friday. Record low max is a ridiculous 43F on Friday so we're not getting anywhere close to that.

Didn't think I'd ever see snow flakes on Summer Solstice, but it appears at the very least a rain/snow mix is likely Thursday night into Friday morning.

Another well below normal day here. Had a high of 70, average is around 82-83. A couple brief showers for a total of .12" in the bucket.

This month has already managed 11 days with precip but a total of only .68" at my house. Loving the fact that most days have stayed below 80, though.

Right now most models point to a big warm up about a week from now, and probably our first 90+ days of the year. If it somehow doesn't happen and we make it through June without a 90 degree day, it will be the first time in over 50 years.

Winter Weather Advisory issued here beginning at noon today lasting through noon tomorrow. NWS is going with 2-6" of snowfall. I'd be surprised if I see at least 2" here though. 700mb look to drop to -6C so we're going to need some pretty high precip rates to pull that cold air down to the surface here. Looks like things could turn convective this afternoon so that could help to pull that cold air down.

I'll go with T-2" for here. I think it's going to be more of a situation of lots of snow falling but very little sticking. Either way, pretty incredible that we're still talking snow on the longest day of the year.

Picked up about 2" here this afternoon with some very heavy precip rates. Had a high of 51F this morning before the precip moved in and the temps plummeted. It's a pretty weird sight, this late June snow and to top it off with it coming in the middle of the afternoon.

The snow has subsided for now...we'll see how much more we pick up tonight.
