Summer seems to finally be arriving in Utah. Should notch our first 90 degree day tomorrow with the heat sticking around through the extended. No good chance of rain either.

Models are also hinting at the 4 corners high building in during the extended as well, at least to some degree.

Hasn't been above 67º here since last Tuesday. Still only one 80+ day on the year so no doubt summer is off to a slow start which is fine by me! Plenty of precip over the last week as well, Bozeman is up to 3.42" on the month with more on the way over the next few days.

SPC has us under a marginal to slight chance for severe storms over the next few days with temps finally warming into the 70's again.

Hit 89 here today, warmest day of the year so far.

Next few days will be in the low to mid 90s, but I'm headed for Mexico city tomorrow through Sunday, where it will be 20 degrees cooler with a chance of showers each day. Then on to Tulum, Mexico, where temps will be in the 90s with humidity - but at least there's the beach.  B)

Still only topped out at 71 here yesterday. The thunder boomers keep putting a cap on things. Haven't been above 75º since the 12th so the second half of this month has been a cool one.

Nothing severe here yesterday... It's looking like the worst of the storms will stay north of Bozeman today fortunately. Looking really bad for areas north of Helena with baseball size hail and tornado's.

Had some thunderstorms yesterday afternoon. Not a lot of rain, but it made for some cold fireworks. It was about 60F near 10 pm.

Bozeman has seen measurable precip on 23 of the past 34 days and still just two 80+ days. Maybe nothing measurable today but more rain/storms are in the forecast tomorrow through Monday. Nice to have things so green and lush as we head into mid July.

It does look like things could heat up later next week where there is a chance that we'll see our first 90 degree day of the year.

Was in Canmore/Banff over the past week and it sure is a beautiful place.  Not sure I'd want to live there (too much of a tourist town) but it is a stunning area.

The last 24 hours have been insane. Arrived at DEN around 8 pm last night and on the drive home, got a simultaneous firework/lightning display. Saw hundreds of mostly cloud to cloud flashes.

Then this evening, multiple rounds of some of the most ferocious thunderstorms I've seen. The thunder felt and sounded like howitzers right over the house. A couple different storms produced half dollar sized hail in the area, but fortunately it never got bigger than about dime size here.

Things are settling down here. Just a daily chance of a thunderstorm and highs in the low to mid 80's through the weekend.

Through the first 10 days this month Bozeman is running a -5F departure so the cool summer continues. Still looking for the first 90 of the year. Models keep hinting at a couple of 90+ days but it keeps getting pushed back.

Blows my mind how Bozeman is easily running a -5 departure month to date while PDX struggles to be even a degree below average.

Yeah...it's kind of a head scratcher. Obviously a bit more UHI effect going on around PDX but there are much larger scale things going on it would seem and it's actually the low temps that is causing the most warming out there.

It's been the opposite here this month. Kind of average'ish highs but the lows have been well below average which is odd cause it has also been really wet with high humidity. The negative departure here is going to take a big hit over the next week or so though.

Well, after a very pleasant first third of summer, it's turning ugly here. I only have five 90+ days to this point, but it looks like every day for the next week should be in the low to mid 90s.

Would be nice if we could at least manage some decent afternoon/evening storms this weekend, which looks possible.

Somehow this calm period has morphed into a daily threat of storms through Wednesday now. Only my third summer here but this is the most green and lush I've seen for mid July. Things aren't even close to drying out which is great to see after the last couple of summers.

SPC also has us under a marginal risk for severe storms over the next 3 days.

4th day in a row of strong storms firing up right over Bozeman. Another 0.2" here on the day and 2.23" on the month. Morning sun followed by strong to severe storms looks to continue through at least Tuesday.

Pretty neat Cumulonimbus clouds with almost a Mammatus look to them today as the storm rolled in.

Big storm hit downtown Denver for a couple hours Saturday night. Was a bummer since it delayed the Rockies game that some friends and I went to that evening, but was still fun to watch the lightning with throngs of other people.

Decent chance of storms again this afternoon/evening, and then it turns hot later this week, with temps likely approaching triple digits Wed-Fri.

Another day, another set of storms rolling through. Looks like one more day of storms and even just plain old stratiform rain tomorrow before finally catching a break from the rain/storms. It has rained on 13 of the first 15 days here this month and the ground is completely saturated so we're definitely in need of a break.

Still looking for the first 90 of the year. Bozeman's high mark is 87 this year. Looks like we cool down the next couple of days into the the 60's and 70's then warm back up again into the 80's before cooling back down again.

Hottest day of the year so far. DEN has made it up to at least 99, I'm sure they'll hit triple digits which will be a record for the day.

97 in my backyard. One more really hot day near triple digits tomorrow, and then we mercifully cool into the 80s for the weekend.

Meanwhile up here... Bozeman either tied or broke their record low for the day this morning. Dropped down to 39F here at my house and either 39 or 40 in town.

Bozeman is still running a -4F departure on the month but the last week of this month looks to torch.

Had a good storm move through this afternoon knocking the temps down.

Only made it to 81F here and it looks like 85F in town so Bozeman is still searching for the first 90+ of the year. Looks like the next couple of days they may get there but the models have been over shooting for quite some time now.
