He's 7 and he's been obsessed with the Hawks for years. We have videos of him at 2 years old jumping excitedly while watching the game. He probably knows more about them then I do. 😆

Spotted Towhees have made nests in my area. Beautiful bird with an intrinsic color style.

What happened to the other banter thread? Some good stuff there.

Gone forever because someone was butthurt.

I thought Fred just deleted it since he doesn’t like political content on the front page of the weather side.

It’s too bad, that was probably the most popular thread I’ve ever started! Even though its orignal purpose was to siphon sports talk away from the main weather thread.

When you're cooking and the water starts to bubble over up and go over the sides, just give it a good blow. The bubbles evaporate and go down, stopping disaster and allowing you time to go grab that canola oil.

I dont delete stuff, it's just hidden. I set a rule of no politics and I mean, no politics. I could care less if some of you really want to discuss it here. It isn't a matter of my views on the matter, its that these threads seem to generate more complaints (from very fine people on both sides) than responses. I really want to start encouraging mets and weather journalists to chime in on the forum, and dumpster fire political threads dont help. If you guys really want to discuss, take it to PM or Facebook, but not here.

Sports, North Bend drizzle, and gardening are fine though.

Nice to see college teams that actually play together more than one season beat these supposed powerhouses. Just goes to show you that chemistry is the most important thing in sports.

Went to UC irvine University Center for lunch and just as I got there, there was a loud cheer in the Eureka restaurant. They won their first NCAA Tournament game ever, beating #4 Kansas State.

Oregon vs UC Irvine to go to the Sweet 16!

Great game by the Ducks today. Talk about peaking at the right time.

Just like everyone predicted, 13 seed UC Irvine vs 12 seed Oregon lol. Another year with a double digit seed in the Sweet 16.

A couple wildlife related notes.

Driving into Eugene yesterday afternoon there was a herd of about 40-50 elk grazing along I-5 about 3-4 miles north of Eugene just north of the McKenzie River. I knew the Coburg Hills had an elk population, but I had never seen them that close in.

There is a new wolf pack in Western Oregon. It is in SE Lane and NE Douglas Counties.

This March Madness has been really interesting despite the chalkiness.  Really interesting matchups across the board.  Sadly, I think Duke will destroy Virginia Tech.

I'm at 250 of the 353 jerseys now.  Newest ones are Duke, Kansas, and UCLA  :)

I’ve been a huge Trailblazers fan ever since the Sonics were stolen from us... seeing Nurkic’s injury breaks my heart man. :( That was one of the more gruesome leg injury since Paul George and Hayward. D**n shame. Get well soon big fella.

I'm not a big blazer fan, but hate to see an athlete go through that. One of the reasons I don't follow baseball as much anymore is because all my favorite players seem to get injured on an annual basis... Pretty much every promising pitcher misses 1-2 years of their career with an elbow injury. The nice thing about the NFL is they have figured out a pretty good way to protect their QB's.

Nurkic's injury...dear god that was awful.

Compound fractures, could hear the break. Just awful. On a side note though, if an NBA team is interested in Zion, this is something they should be weary of as well. The kid plays above the rim and he has a lot of upper body mass.

The number of spam calls I get a day is about 2-5. So many scumbags out there it's simply amazing.Screenshot_20190326-150711_Truecaller.jpg

This one lowlife never gives up.

As a result I have my default ringtone a silent ringtone I got from Zedge. For my contacts I have a Zelda Lost Woods ringtone.

Today I got a voicemail in Chinese.
