Yep!!

I wish we could just talk about the weather without all getting butthurt due to our personal preferences. And then others could show some restraint at least when that invariably happens...

It has been drizzling all day here in Salem. I doubt where I am there has been more than a couple hundredths. SLE has picked up 0.05" so far.

70 for a high so far in North Bend and 69 here.

Our cottonwoods are leafing out today.

The cottonwoods leafed out in February back in 2015.

Cottonwoods leafing out is not really a weather topic though. Perhaps a separate thread would suffice, especially since some find such posts especially triggering.

Late March or early April seems about normal here.

Looks like they leafed out in early to mid March here in 2015... but that was really early.

I was really astounded how far along the cottonwoods were in the Salem area the other day.

The winds are still offshore with relatively low dewpoints up here in the Portland area. Really not much of a surprise today’s system fell apart on us all things considered. Let’s hope the other systems this week don’t suffer the same fate.

Took this yesterday in North Bend... I am sure these trees are farther along now after another 70-degree day.

I’m okay with a few days of rain but hopefully we don’t get into a constant wet pattern.

Elevation 580’ Location a few miles east of I-5 on the Snohomish Co side of the Snohomish/Skagit border. I love snow/cold AND sun/warmth!

I wouldn’t be surprised if it was like last April, wet at the beginning and more dry towards the end.

As long as we continue courting severe drought I will be a happy camper.

If we have a top tier wet April up here like last year... our short period of "abnormally dry" on the drought maps will be wiped out and all will be good.

They were the warmest temps on record that early in the year for many places.

Interesting... we had no idea it was aberration.   That was good information from Phil!   Maybe all record highs and lows are an aberration?

Nahhhh.

Antics?   Hiding?

Saying there must be lots of UHI out here today is hiding my intentions?

Phil can't stand the thought that it can actually be warm at SEA and many times even warmer out here.

Nature trolls Phil all the time...

Nature trolls us all.

But especially you, Jesse, and Phil.

Said it in the March thread accidentally, but RIP yard work for a while.  Models have the S Valley being rainy enough at some point every day for the next 2 weeks that it will be unfeasible to do the mowing.  I just mowed 2 days ago and it's already almost as tall as it was.  Not looking forward to trying to mow grass that will be a foot tall or more in the back half of the month.

We need the rain but it would be nice to have one 24 hr period to be able to get something done outside in the next 14 days.

I'm not sure of the year, but I remember there was at some point 3 straight weeks in April-May with no days being feasible to mow. Had to go and fill up the gas can in the middle of mowing because the push mower used all of it.  Stalled out every 10 feet or less with too much wet grass on the one day there was even a small chance to do it, and then it was like another 2 weeks without being able to do it again.
