Looks like SEA finished with .19. Flatiron was right. Still don’t know how they only ended up with that much whe pretty much everyone else around was more.

Maybe Seattle cooks the books to help the global warming cause? Wouldn’t surprise me if they fudged on precip totals too. This state is run by liberal nut jobs. A Democrat has been Governor every year since 1985.

Perhaps those liberal nut jobs are responsible for the strange lack of weather excitement in the swamp?

Tim would remind you that SEA saw its wettest 4 year period on record 2014-17.

54 and cloudy here this morning. Temps haven’t changed much over the last couple days hasn’t dipped below 50 but hasn’t gone above 55. Yesterday ended up being the coldest day of the month with a high of 53. Could end up being the coldest day we see until October.

It can happen.

I believe the GFS actually picked up on the massive heat wave in the South even while it was still past 240.

It also picked up on the start of the February 2019 cold snap. While the Midwest was under a massive polar vortex, the West was under a massive high pressure system... then a week later, the West was under a huge trough and we all know what happened.

Still a 0.1% chance of happening, but what do you know. Maybe the megaridge might just “transfer over” like the Midwest polar vortex did.

Even a broken clock is right twice a day.

This pattern will break sooner rather than later. Its inevitable.

Of all of the long range GFS runs I have seen, this HAS to be one of the dumbest.

102°F in Seattle, 104°F in Portland in early June. Yeah, sure, it’s going to verify.

it hit 94 degrees here on June 25th, 2017. That however was towards the end of the month obviously but it can get pretty hot in the right circumstances in June.

Apparently KLMT recorded light snow earlier this morning, but I am sure I stayed up until 5am (not really sure WHY!) and it was moderately raining up at this house.

T'storms look very possible today here. Radar and the way the sky looks reminds me of a stretch of storms I had in May 2013, which consisted of a lot of easterly flow. Not a common directional flow but it has been shown to be convective. Speaking of that stretch, I had storms on the 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th that May in 2013, one of the longest consecutive t'storm periods in K-Falls, next to one in 1998 I think (or '96? Have to look at my notes).

Rushed on the GFS, but as I said a week ago, I’d watch late June for a heatwave as convection blows up over the WPAC for a period of time.

In the nearer term, it’s a flat/zonal pattern for early/mid June, with a more typical north/south temp/precip gradient setting up (as opposed to the ongoing hammering of California).

The flow keeps quickly changing and the temps probably not warm enough to tap into whatever the atmosphere wants to do.

So, storms look less likely as time goes.

Or am I just worrying too much about nothing.

Up to 65 degrees at 5pm here under mostly sunny skies. Was a little rain this morning but only 0.01”. Glad that part of the weekend has turned out great and we got some rain as well to help out with the rain deficit.

You say this kind of stuff every summer. If it makes you so miserable, why do you stay?

Because I have family and academic commitments that need to be completed.
