Haha.12z is a nice model for the PNW. But the last few GFS models have something weird in them. Why do recent GFS models show a trough coming out of the south (Baja) around day 12? Tropical storm remnants? I know it’s clown range but is there any cause for it?

I think Mr Marine Layer brought that up once.

TacomaWaWx
71 and mostly sunny here now as of 2pm. It’d be really nice if August was as good as July. I’m guessing it’ll probably be hotter next month than this month. The way the forecast is shaping up for the final week of July it looks like it’ll be a 73/56 average month. Going to take a guess August will end up in the 75-77 range with less rain than July but we will have to wait and see. Omegaraptor
Whether we like it or not. Heatwaves, wildfires and smoke keep this place busy during the dog days of summer. ☀♨Well I’m definitely hoping the trend of no wildfires continues throughout August, as I’m going to Mount Shasta on the 22nd-26th. It’s pretty nice to not have endless smokestorms over the Northwest.
