This shower is growing but it's moving really slowly. I wouldn't be surprised if there is local flooding in spots. It looks like it could be coming my way soon.

Lots of sunbreaks today and also some scenic cloud formations. Not much in the way of shower activity compared to the last few days. 51/37 spread here.

39/30 today. Thought maybe we would pull off 4 straight sub 40 highs to start the month, but the majority of Saturday afternoon was sunny and we got up to 43.

These showers are moving really slow. At least they are not all that heavy. The shower next to me has been around for 2 hours

According to NOAA much of the west could be removed from drought conditions within a month.

In places that got above average snowfall I was surprised to see any in central Oregon, maybe between the snow it didn't rain much? There are winters like that I guess.

That windstorm last weekend kicked up so much dust the sky was hazy enough to obscure the cumulus field. Then when it rained, the dust got rained out and coated everything (no this isn’t pollen). Took an hour to clean off, really clung on there.

I thought since nothing is happening right now that I thought I would share a couple of pictures. I believe this is either 2017 or 2018. I know it's one of the two because I just dropped off my mom for a board meeting when this happened. My mom's health really got bad in 19 and she passed away in 2020. 

After dropping mom off, I noticed some really dark clouds to our South. I couldn't see much because there was a big hill blocking my view. I drove up to 242nd and Glisan and this is what I saw. A big shelf cloud. As everyone knows, it's hard to get this in the PNW. I had a video of what was happening but I have changed my phone a couple of times and the only place that I can watch it is on Facebook. There was a big gust front with this storm. If I remember correctly, Troutdale reported a gust over 60mph. I'll never forget this storm as long as I live.

Been very busy with work and family stuff this week and already assumed we have a wet period ahead which is definitely needed but not real interesting to track.   Last year taught me to keep expectations very low in April.    Nature will come around eventually.

I picked up my first freeze since March 1st this morning. With 30.7F as a low, it will also mean that April will end up having a colder low than March (30.9F) which probably doesn't happen all that often.

It was kind of crazy how few freezes I had in March despite the cold temperatures. For whatever reason the clouds and wind didn't align up here while OLM had 17 freezes, BLI had 12, and SEA had 5.
