You know its April when as soon as the snow stops a cascade of drips start coming off the trees. Looking out the kitchen window at the back hill and there are a tremendous amount of birds out there. Several Western Meadowlarks, numerous Juncos, and a pair of Stellar Jays.

Better than looking out your window at several western meadowcamps, numerous junkies and a pair of stellar gays am I right Andrew? :(

Euro looks WET for later this week. Over 3” of rain for the Portland area through next Saturday. Fantastic to see at this stage.

Puget sound area up to about Everett looks to do well too, then there’s some heavy Olympic shadowing moving north of there up I-5

Can’t catch a break.

I've had more accumulation of hail this winter than snow yet somehow I'm supposed to grade this winter as amazeballs?  Get the f out of here with that nonsense.........LOL!

What this winter did feature for my back yard was lots of 34-38 rain.  Whoooooopeeeee!  Statistically cold.  Whoopeee.

My grade for the winter is a D.

The little ice storm we had was very interesting.  The rest was pure crap.

Some rain/snow and hail showers today, currently 36.

Haven't graded my winter but I will give it a C. Never got a snow event that had more than 2 inches of snow on the ground at a time and usually only survived for a day before melting away. A lot of these marginal events helped keep the snowflakes flying throughout the winter though so it wasn't too bad.

Winter had a sub freezing high for the first time since the 2016-17 winter and some nights with a bit of snow. Over 60 days that reached freezing. More than most regular seasons. Plus if this cool stretch continues then hopefully it can put the kibosh on fire season 🤞🏻

As far as this area is concerned that’s a very solid season. We’re playing with so much house money in the snow dept since 2012 it’s amazing. The bush league stretch before that has made this feel so much better. Just wish our summers weren’t an inferno.

Just came over the pass... it was beautiful up there with some sun and snow on the trees and the road was totally dry.   It looked like a white out up there when I checked before leaving Pullman 5 hours ago. Smooth sailing for us.  Are you waiting for tomorrow to go back?   Should be fine during the day no matter what it does tonight.

Snowing at a good clip-- obviously not sticking, but still pretty wild for April let alone the second April in a row.

Here is a prediction... next spring it's going to be fun to compare pics to this year in April.   I am guessing we might have two early springs in the barrel and lined up now.

Oh yeah. I'm sure we will pay dearly for one cold April/May and a cold winter and early spring combo. On the other hand maybe we are entering a period like 2008-2012. Who knows.
