PNW April 2023 Weather Discussion

Recommended Posts

Already back into the 50’s (57) after a high of 78.
Ripped out a vine maple and salal that was taking over, was toasty in the sun. Will be putting a few things in there that will look better. Oh and my dog had a very busy day…

Delightful evening. Great weather for saying goodbye to summer 2023.

That looks like Wawawai Landing. We went on a hike there in March. Wow that place looks packed! We went to Hells Gate State Park, which was very quiet in the morning. There was a county fair just upriver on the opposite bank though.

Ended up with an 84/56 spread here yesterday. The low was at midnight as onshore gradients increased.

Mostly cloudy with some spotty drizzle and 54 out now after a low of 50. Feels very refreshing.

You can see the MJO in action on the EPS... big trough over the eastern half of the country to start then next round moves down along the west coast and the next round after that is back around the Bering Sea.    Watch for the next warm spell somewhere between May 10-20.

Yep. And the warm days are just that, normal warm days, a few degrees above average. Not much torching at the sfc.

Next 10 days should be fairly normal overall... maybe even wetter than normal.    I also think a mid-May warm spell is pretty likely.     The late April warm spell tracked very nicely with the MJO.
