You have any actual proof that the shoulder seasons have been trending wetter? And of course that is also going to vary from location to location. Certainly not the case down here.

I ran the data at Sea-Tac when I was in grad school. I basically compared 2010-2019 with 1945-2009 at Sea-Tac. March-April-May-June and Sept-Oct were wetter, July-Aug were drier. Both a higher frequency of rainy days and of big events.

I highly doubt it passes any statistical significance test, but if you eyeball the data, it's clear that it's been quite wet in the Seattle area particularly in springtime over the past 15 years.

Edit -- found the plot!

Also worth keeping in mind that it might be getting drier in late spring despite the added rainfall due to increased evaporation from warming. Tough to say...

Looks like it will be cooling off soon.

Saw some high clouds fanning out ahead of that frontal boundary well off to the west on this 81-degree day.    Might have some thunderstorms tomorrow afternoon or evening.

That looks like your typical GFS fever dream. Commanding the entire pattern around a mediocre ULL.

That is a good way of putting it.

I am hopeful that the reality is ULLs moving into the SW which would be more variable in western WA than just consistent cold.

Yeah looks like a CA ULL pattern with higher heights farther north.

Not seeing anything strongly suggesting a return to this.

That will (probably?) come back the 2nd week of May. Or something similar to it.

Ended up with a 56/44 day here. Mostly cloudy and still on the cool side for late April, despite being so much milder than yesterday. PDX put up a -2 with their 58/46 spread, after putting up a -10 yesterday.

That line of showers kind of disintegrated, just picked up some sprinkles the last few hours

Interesting looks like SEA will break the record days in between last 70deg. If we get past late next weeks warm weather SEA could really pad that record.

I feel pretty confident everywhere from BLI to EUG will hit 70 next week. It’s not hard to do at all at this point with even a little ridging.

High of 50 yesterday and a high of 51 today. Pretty chilly highs for this time of year but it honestly doesn’t feel that cold since I’m acclimated to it. I know next week if it gets to 75 at my house it will definitely feel hot but once summer rolls around and the first 90 heatwave happens and it normally reaches 70 most days is when I get acclimated to the 70s but I will say when the first 70s of the year happens it always feels quite warm.

Still 54 out which feels pretty mild even though it isn’t even all that warm. A little overcast but light is hanging on in the sky. Nyce evening.

You should see the green in the Umpqua basin.
