TacomaWaWx
Even if we don’t get a thunder and lightning show here tonight we should be able to pick up some rain still. VancouverIslandSouth
Literally the least likely place in Canada to experience a thunderstorm. Your odds double or even triple once you get to the mainland around Vancouver or the Fraser valley B788C8DF-77FF-4426-9398-B062907B13CB.png Victoria downtown is probably worse than Nanaimo for storms, I have to imagine that's measured at the airport. Nanoose-Parksville do better than places further south as storms will be triggered off the central island mountains, intensify, then roll into the Strait. Nanaimo is often too far south to catch that, but you can kind of see it in the Courtney ranking there. Of course Nanaimo airport isn't really representative of Nanaimo either, I've seen a fair number of cells move off Mount Benson and hit Nanaimo proper.

Timmy Supercell
Earlier I just had vicinity rumbles (2-3pm). I didn't even turn on my cameras once the whole day. Heard central OR got slammed and a few people had some of their biggest thunderstorms in recent memory. Can't say I had anything severe level since Aug 2017. But it looks like a secondary round of t'storms could hit me very soon, maybe even while I'm sleeping. Latest radar images show these cells slowly progressing eastward as the night goes on. So far this year I haven't had any t'storms occur between 12am to 12pm, so any morning storms would be my first for 2019. 1 Quote Ashland, KY Weather '23-'24 Winter Snowfall - 5.50" First freeze: 11/1 (32) Minimum: 2 on 1/17 Measurable snows: 4 Max 1 day snow: 3" (1/19) Thunders: 16 1/27, 1/28, 2/10, 2/22, 2/27, 2/28, 3/5, 3/6, 3/14, 3/15 3/26, 3/30, 3/31, 4/2, 4/3, 4/8, Severe storms: 2 ------------------------------------------------------- [Klamath Falls, OR 2010 to 2021] https://imgur.com/SuGTijl
