Starting to look like we may have to wait yet another year for that cool August.

#whosawthatcoming

We could use a warm up and dry off.

Elevation 580’ Location a few miles east of I-5 on the Snohomish Co side of the Snohomish/Skagit border. I love snow/cold AND sun/warmth!

It’s definitely been wet in spots but also pretty warm. June was 2-3 degrees above average, July was around a degree above average, and so far August has been 2-3 degrees above average in the western lowlands. You just seem to have insanely warped expectations for what constitutes “warmth” around here in the summer.

Lots of warm lows and cloudy, coolish days up here recently.    Makes it feel like a warm up is in order... at least for daytime highs.   And good news... that is starting now.

PDX has seen an average high of 82 this month so far. Almost perfectly normal.

The average low has been 63 though, which is about four degrees above average.

The last 4 days have been cloudy and coolish up here away from the water.

We don't live in Portland or Seattle.

The highs for the last 4 days in North Bend have been 67, 68, 70, 70 with virtually no sun at all.   Normal high is around 75 or 76.   Randy's area has been similar... hence his comment.

At least no big heat waves on the 12z runs. Although something tells me that could change in the next few days.

FWIW the trend has been to weaken the amplitude of the WPAC convection with more of a W2 configuration as that medium range period approaches. So my guess is, if anything, it could trend back the other way in closing. Statistically it’d be favored to do so.

Well if his area is so unrepresentative of mine he shouldn’t have commented on my PDX-referencing post lumping us all together. We are not due for a warm up down here. Although that doesn’t mean we aren’t gonna get one.

Just a feeling... but I don't sense any heat waves coming.   Not in the cards this summer.

Ouch. Today just got a little less nice!

He is also trolling you of course.    So you can tell us how warm its been in Portland.

I was thinking the same thing the other day, probably a few Low to mid 80s days left this summer. Probably no heatwave following the trend that’s been going on all summer.

Same here. Crazy to think PDX won't even have an official heatwave this year considering the vast number of ones the past several years.

Nice avatar pic!

OLM this summer.

June: +1

July: +.4

August: +1.6

Taking UHI out of the picture, it's probably just been a slightly above normal summer for most of the lowlands so far. With highs running very near normal and lows running moderately above.

And near normal precip.

A forum for the end of the world.

Yup, definitely a lot of similarities between you two. Makes for a lawyer/client match made in heaven!

I don’t mind being similar to Tim in some ways. We both like snow, we both have way too much disposable income and both were born with a third nipple.

I don’t even mind being similar to you in some ways. We both like snow, we both have never been a teacher and we both like sandwiches. ❤️❤️❤️

My preferences can beat up your preferences’ dad.

Let the hate/lies flow. It’s not going to do anything to get me in line warm season-preference wise. You’re just gonna spin your wheels. :(

Been warmer down south. At HIO June was +1.9, July +1.0, and August +2.7.

EUG has seen +3.2, +1.1, and +2.1.

Careful. Apparently these are fightin’ words and Matt seems extra ornery today. ;)
