Dave
Snowing in Bend. Earliest measurable snow is 10/10 there...I don't think that's accurate, but I could be wrong. My googling is failing me, but I'm pretty sure they got 5 or 6 inches on October 6th or 7th a few years ago. A historic event.
Gradient Keeper
12:34 AM Temp 46.5, breezy east wind near West Gresham. The east wind has increased noticeably. I've only experienced easterlies overnight in September a few times, but that pattern was always with a thermal trough west of the Coast Range and a very warm air mass. It wasn't with a cold "arctic" trough and strong high pressure sliding down the Rockies giving us a chilly offshore flow. That's for sure. Speaking of that. This MIGHT be another first for September. Crown Point just hit 50mph at 12:02 AM. I thought this was worth mentioning anyway.

Jesse
Wow, 39 at PDX. Nice. Seems like this trough has delivered interesting weather in every way it could have. Historically low/early snow in many locations, both in the Cascades and on the east side. Impressive line of thunderstorms on Saturday with lightning, heavy rain, hail and rapidly dropping afternoon temperatures. A record cold September day yesterday with winter-like east winds, heavy overcast and rain at times. Then all the clouds melted away by 11pm or so, setting us up for the first metro wide September low in the 30s since the mid-1980s. Feels like we're getting spoiled!
