Recommended Posts

Granted, it’s not stratiform drizzle- should be heavy rain and strong winds as well.

It might snow this winter!

If you add all those numbers up, and divide them by 11.8017 (the number of dry Halloweens we’ve seen in the last 15 years) you get 2002. :(

Oh man, I have been looking forward to the seasonal post from Deweydog where he uses is big lawyer brain and big lawyer words to wax on about his childhood, his personal relationship to the geography and climate, and his detailed views on how the season might evolve. We get a couple of these kinds of posts a year, but until then, as Dewey said, we're fscked.

Jesus, Fred. How many times does a guy have to say “Thanksgiving?”

It's really true. All of Tim's fretting has paid off big-time. Very few washouts of holidays that involve outdoor activities.

Yep... I control the weather!

Mark Nelson updated his blog. For not making a winter forecast, he sure has a few opinions. He's calling for a normal winter and not a snowless one necessarily.

Who is Mark Nelson and what did he do with that warm biased no fun son of a ***** Mark Nelsen???

. Sort of if you think 75% of the the last 20 years have been rainy Halloweens. This was the nicest one I remember in a long time. I think we had this same discussion because last year was not too bad either but the 3-4 before that were terrible with lots of wind and cold rain as we dragged the kids around soaked and crying.

And how about 4th of July? Memorial day? Labor day? Flag day???

BC gets BURIED in snow!

6z GFS November 1st version in 4 hours 49 minutes

Fascinating solution on the 0z GFS alright.  It appears the chance of cold blocking next week is pretty well over, but there has been some consistency on recent GFS runs (as well as the 12z ECMWF) showing the blocking pattern pinching off and restructuring in a favorable way as we approach day 10.
