Hang in there buddy. We are hopefully the hot-spot for this incoming Winter.

I sure hope these strong systems show back up when it is our turn, lol. In the meantime, I'm looking for some NW flow clipper action to maybe whiten my ground as Christmas lights will be fired up this coming weekend.  ;)

Jaster--

This weekend storm looks like a slopfest for my area. Rain/snow mix, an inch or 2 possible as colder air filters in. How is yours looking?

Idk, Euro shows my area right on the line of maybe 1-2" before it turns to rain. Expectations are low attm for anything in Marshall. But I will be in NMI Fri-Sun where I "hope" things will be a tad more wintry  ;)

If the current beasts shown on map #1 are too soon to be the beasts shown on map #2, when do those come around via the BSR? Isn't the lag time 10-12 days iirc??

This morning's Euro really weakens storm #2 as it move thru and east of the GL's. Nonetheless, it still has a nice look for NMI early on Sunday morning. All the other globals are still amping the storm around our area but actually show less snow, lol. Lots to work out with that one.

17-21 days but centered around 17 days...

Oh, ok. So I was off by a factor of "2" lol. Doing the math, is there anything on your radar for our sub in that time range?

GRR thinks cold is coming, tho models seem to have backed off quite a bit on the real-deal cold blast.

High pressure moves in Thursday for a nice Thanksgiving Day
weather-wise. The next system follows for the weekend and that
will likely bring the really cold air back by Sunday
, so this
will likely be a rain to snow event with a significant amount of
wind too.

CPC's guess on next weekend does indeed have the far northern portion of the Mitt getting in on the better snows.

NOAA:

Pattern essentially repeats itself from Thursday with temperatures
remaining on the colder side of normal before another cyclone
deepens with help from the standing STJ feature. NWP indicate this
low will close off much earlier. Limited access to warm air and
muted northward progress of the warm front may lend itself to a
period of front end snow before changing over to rain.

Tbh, I never look out beyond my 5 day unless it's summer and I have a trip planned that is wx dependent. Seeing as Tom's been keeping quiet wrt any arctic blasts, I take that to mean it's kinda iffy. I know there is an SSW underway, but I don't think it's playing out quite the same as the typical mid-winter version does. Seems to bopping around the N Hemisphere not really settling in any one place. So chances are, we will continue with a bit of a polar coaster ride vs going into the deep freezer. Which I'm ok with for the record.

Well, if you've missed seeing snow flying, it looks like some is in your future.  ;)

We will see...

Tbh, I prefer to have wet weather this weekend instead of white. Dont forget, I will have company that will be leaving, some driving, others flying.

How odd is this to see this much of the country being BN.

Yeah, not sure I've ever seen even a short range map like that - all blues/grey. That's pretty wild.

Hoping it's much less sloppy where I'm going..

It will be a windy week ahead. On Wednesday, wind gusts could occasionally gusts to 60mph. Wow!

I’ld rather have this milder active weather than the boring dry cold stuff we had here for the first half of November. My brother was finally combining soybeans yesterday. He also does custom harvesting so he did other people’s first. Yields are good, but the beans still are a tad on the moist side. We’re really thankful it’s staying mostly rain with the next two systems!

Texas and Oklahoma will have a front move in Wednesday. Thursday and Friday will be very very wet. That's creates a travel danger for many including yours truly. I have to drive up to the Red River Thursday and back. I absolutely hate driving in all that rain.

It's overcast, but we will see a high of 78 today before the front moves through and mid 50's tomorrow.

Agree 100%. Today will feature a sunny to mostly sunny day and temps approaching 50F. It feels great outside to do just about any activity. So many people are taking advantage of this weather in putting up their Christmas lights and etc.. Great opportunity b4 the cold and snow arrives eventually.
