November 2019 Weather Discussion for the PNW

This is only one run. I can recall back in September and October the models promised troughing, they backed off, and then brought it back within a few days. Plus it’s still a pretty good run anyways.

Onto the Euro.

It gets cold again just after day 11.  Pretty crazy to worry too much about things that far out yet.

Yeah looks a bit more backdoory there.

Really only going to worry about the 7 day range and getting that initial block setup and the troughing next week and hope we get hit by a nice BC slider.

You guys do realize the pattern gets good again after a breif reorganization right?  Utterly absurd to think this run is bad.

Tune in tomorrow for part one of Andrew’s eight part series “Winter 2019-2020: What Went Wrong?”

One critic said of it “a scathing reminder of Pacific Northwest climatology and a wake up call for the weenie community.”

Nice Con Air reference.

The only thing that would of made this day better is snow but looks like plenty of exciting potential ahead of us.  Absolutely beautiful at Chambers Bay.   I got as many shots as I could in!  We were protected for the most part from the northerly winds and it felt kinda like Spring today.

9th hole par 3.....if you zoom in you can kind of get the scale of this hole. Crazy, like our weather models have been!

currently 40*

Olympics seem so tiny....how the heck do they influence our weather so much!

Something like that. Fell asleep 4 AM dealing with my knee, then up at 7 AM for Doctor appointment.... VERY unlikely for a night shift for me but haha, I'm going to try!

00z EURO in 1 hours 4 minutes

Man I am sorry! Definitely due for a good nights sleep! What’s wrong with your knee?

I don't think anyone has been wet except for a small pocket of the region near Rattlesnake Ridge and a little NE of Stanwood.

Very dry November here. On pace for a drier than normal year... finally.

I think Jan 1999 through 2006 may have been the rock bottom that we will ever see here.  Jan 2004 and Dec 2005 (for some) was about all there was in that period.

Feb 2001, Jan 2002, Mar 2002 also. But yeah, that was about it. Brutal stretch.

Justin and others thought it had become the "new normal"....
