Yeah I learned a valuable lesson during a snowmobile outing over in Mazama.

All of the sudden another amplified block is showing up in the models.

Not ideal for the PNW, obviously, but still a rather amplified block that has started to show up. And wasn't there a few runs ago.

Lots of time for things to change, just noting that development.

I think the euro has been showing something like that for 3 or 4 days now.

Not many changes other than Day 6-7 the BC trough almost managed to dump cold air into Eastern Washington, but the highly amplified progressive ridge moving inland kills that idea. Like I mentioned earlier let's see how things look in 3-4 days once that Aleutian low/trough is insight within Day 4-5. Perhaps then we may see more notable changes. 00z GEM at Day 4-5 has a deeper, more compact low well off the southern Oregon Coast. The only results are increasing east winds again. The low weakens as it moves closer to us. Yawn. Onto the 00z GEFS, then EURO....

I doubt much will change in the next 14 years. She’s an emotional train wreck.

I have one of those as well!

Anyway it is currently 36 degrees.

Elevation 580’ Location a few miles east of I-5 on the Snohomish Co side of the Snohomish/Skagit border. I love snow/cold AND sun/warmth!

Really is amazing how their personality traits at a very young age carry right through to adulthood.

Looks like I didn't miss much while I was gone, felt cold but I doubt Victoria had any snow. The weather in Asia was interesting, big swings from humid 70s to cold dry 40s in Japan but mostly dry the whole time. Thailand was hot with varying levels of humidity. Taiwan was warm/drizzly, seems to be the default pattern in northern Taiwan under NE flow.

00z EURO looks a bit more active in the long range. Here's the total rainfall and snowfall through the next 10 days.

Is anything on Mt Hood open? Was there ever a year where nothing opened?

That’s an excellent pattern for wave driving/long term blocking (oversimplified/acronym-free way to describe it).

Play the long game.

We will see what the 12z shows, but the 06z wasn’t very wet or active really through day 10. We’ve gotta get a more active mountain snow pattern going to open up all the resorts and start building snowpack. Hopefully Mother Nature starts cooperating.

Tacoma WA elevation 300’

Monthly rainfall-3.56”

Warm season rainfall-11.14”

Max temp-88

+80 highs-2

+85 highs-2

+90 highs-0
