Due to the parallel winter proposition, I've decided this one will have legs here for mby, since last Jan 17-18 was my first real storm of 2019. This one's coming in right on target..

Today’s 1-3” event turned into nothing but flurries for my backyard. Again.

I'm thinking more like 1" down here in the CR/IC area today.  Recent HRRR runs are focusing the best snow farther nw where 2-3" could fall.  The HRRR only has a 2-hour band of snow moving through this area.  It's a thicker, longer-lasting band up by Waterloo and Mason City.

Freezing drizzle instead of snow this afternoon, everything is already glazed over.

No ice is melting today w temps holding at 26F. Cant wait till all of this melts away tomorrow. Temps will recover nicely into the 40s on Monday and near 50F by Tuesday. Ba bye ICE!!!

The tornado that struck close to me (~8 mi.) away did property damage only.

Snowing pretty good for a while now. It's very dry snow. Got half inch so far which is more than I got from the fri-sat storm

If this snow ever gets here (front edge continues to erode), it won't last for much more than an hour.  We may not even get an inch unless it really snows hard.

Beautiful snowfall right now! Nice size flakes....good rates. Just took a stroll down the street to take it in. This is my fav kinda snowfall....big flakes....no wind. Just measured 1.9" on patio table.

2.4" now. Officially my largest snowfall of the season. Just awesome rates rn!

It's finally snowing, although not as hard as I expected.  Meanwhile, the back edge is already racing in.  This line shrinks down to nothing south of Cedar Rapids.

back side of snow has -FZDZ with -SN. But the -FZDZ is limiting how much snow could be falling.

I'm very lucky tonight. Looks like I'm sitting in the pivot zone. Flake size is growing as I'm typing.
