Nice showers for Reg and south of Salton Sea. A nice flow of Pacific moisture helping a small popup cyclone just south of Yuma.

It is interesting that the very driest part of the blocking high (as viewed with the upper water vapor image) has moved rather quickly- over the last 48 hours -to a position SE of the Hawaiian Islands.

That driest pile of the blocking high has now moved almost south of Hawaii. The Northeast quadrant of the high is wetting up with a good flow of moisture over the top of the high into British Columbia and rain for the temperate rain forest there. The lesser flow under the belly of the beast is into the Baja low pressure and making very light showers for Southern Arizona. The next Aleutian cyclone and push of cold air might bring some rain to NorCal. If that super dry part of the blocking high stays way out there 3 thousand miles from the Pacific Coast and If the dry can stay out there, fall might be looking good for rain in California.
