Anti Marine Layer
Bay Area forecast discussion says to be prepared. Quote Ahead of the event, we recommend taking today as a day of preparation. Today is a perfect day to make sure you are ready for the strong winds, moderate to heavy rain, and the possibility of power outages. Charge your phone and battery back ups, tie down outdoor furniture and trash cans, check your emergency kit supplies, know where and how to get updates from your local emergency management, and clear storm drains and gutters. Pn1ct0g3n
Looking more and more ominous as the altostratus thickens here too. We’re only seeing the fringes of it until the main event on Monday. aside note, the days are really feeling short now. Before I know it I’ll be eating dinner in total darkness.
Thunder98
Looks I'll likely see 1.25" of rain on Monday. Extremely good and more than double the avg rainfall for October. Wettest Oct since 2016?
Thunder98
Tomorrow is probably going to be one of those classic overcast before the storm days. I love those kind of days.

AquariusRadar
Seems the AR is not just a Pacific event as discussed in this article. AR-blessing and a curse https://weather.com/science/weather-explainers/news/atmospheric-river-explained Moving flooding rain to snowpack storage is one of the main purposes of aquariusradar. The politicians in charge of finding solutions to California water shortages breathe a sigh of relief as they see the current AR eliminate immediate need for research on drought mitigation. The voter concerns are temporarily quelled. It is but one AR. As in the past, the drought problem goes away until the next dry emergency returns.
