Quite pleasant during the day despite these chilly nights. Pretty common in La Niña years where crystal clear dry air leads to crazy diurnal ranges even in midwinter.

Yup. Almost high noon and I still have a ten foot shadow, and the sun is almost centered above the southern horizon. 
 

Sunset is 4:48pm, the earliest it ever gets. At latitude 34, the shortest daylight of the year is 9 hours and 53 minutes. (According to Wikipedia)

Sunset should be about 3 minutes later now than it was in early December.

WC is showing a lot more rainy days again and it's colder! Overall maybe we will be in a cold, showery pattern for the next few weeks! Highs are only around 50F!
