The NWS just updated the High temps today and spiked it up to 101F! Now I'm under a excessive heat warning.

Stepped outside to a feeling in the air that hasn’t graced my thermoreceptors in many weeks. Corner thermometer reads 80! Last time it hit that down to the coast just have been during the early July heatwave. Middle/high clouds are gone but August finally took hold here.

Wow! Radar shows a well-defined chain of pop up t’storm action coming ashore near Goleta and marching north through the Santa Maria area.

MB slightly cooler today owing to the partly cloudy conditions and a bit more of a sea breeze. It’s quite a bit humider everywhere, too.

There were some nice real thunderstorms visible towards the mountains today. One cloud became very tall and pretty, but later I realized it was a pyrocumulus.

Unlike Santa Ana conditions, it has become quite humid. Dewpoints were in the mid 60s near the coast.

Corner reading hit 92! Wind is just now beginning to turn onshore, as the flags are showing.

Some beach areas have dewpoints around 70 now. That's quite a change from the spring like dewpoints in the upper 50s of the past few weeks.
