Pn1ct0g3n
Very hazy today. Foggy again this morning. Extra strong inversions have been the norm for much of this year.

Pn1ct0g3n
Would seem that way. Deeper marine layer and not as hot in the inner coastal plain as it was yesterday.
Anti Marine Layer
Looks to be hot again next week after a cooler day today. Traditional early fall offshore flow.
Reg
Only 91F here today, one of the coolest days in months. Can’t wait for our first Autumn cold front (though I’m sure Mr Marine Layer can).
Anti Marine Layer
Today was the last day of 2020 that had more than 12 hours of daylight and the last day the sun angle reached above 55 degrees. As we've entered the fall, the sun is now setting south of west.
Anti Marine Layer
Low clouds are slower to burn off this morning. That should result in a less hot afternoon.

Anti Marine Layer
Still looks to be a pleasant day tomorrow before the heat returns by Monday. It will be a dry heat, though, which would be okay without the high fire danger.
Anti Marine Layer
Southern California was saved from drought this year by a crazy April cutoff low, but Northern California and the Pacific Northwest did not have the same luck. Still I'll be happy if we can make it through this next week without at least 100000 acres burned down in Southern California by new or reinvigorated fires. Anti Marine Layer
Cirrosmokus is blowing out over the ocean again. Marine layer has also deepened.
Pn1ct0g3n
Seems our sea surface temps are up a bit, for LA and Ventura County coasts particularly.
Anti Marine Layer
Marine layer clung tenaciously to the beaches today even as offshore winds above the inversion blew smoke plumes over the ocean.

Anti Marine Layer
We appear to have a southerly surge in Northern California this morning. Lots of smoke there again blowing out to sea. Down here, low clouds got pushed to back the coast during the night.

Anti Marine Layer
Today is Tuesday, Trash Truck Day. 6 noisy trash trucks come by at random parts of the day, since there's 3 different types of trash and one truck for each direction. Haven't been in the office since March 11. Today is also about the same sun angle as March 12, the first day working from home.

Thunder98
Why is the Marine layer so entrenched this September. At this time last year the marine layer season was basically done after September 10th.

Pn1ct0g3n
The heavy fog cleared out here. Real breezy, and the temperature gradients remain sharp as you head even a little inland.
