Pn1ct0g3n
nope. The sea breeze kicked in hard and I think I see fog. Things began to look promising around mid morning but the stable ocean air almost always wins here.
Pn1ct0g3n
Many coastal cities below 70 now. There’s heatwave fog in the vicinity, which we somehow managed to avoid up until now. There was an abrupt shift in the wind from mostly S to WSW before it showed up.

Pn1ct0g3n
Significantly cooler in the SoCal coastal areas today as the marine layer suddenly returned; even the more interior ones like Anaheim or Downtown LA stayed in the low to mid 80s. Valleys were in the 90s, down from 100s earlier in the heatwave. Very reminiscent of a typical July or August afternoon—just way earlier in the year than usual. AquariusRadar
Reg gave my post about aquariusradar a "rain" emoji. I'm not sure if that's good or bad not being familiar with the meaning of the forum emojis. I'll think of it as good as the post did gather at least one opinion. The more familiar aqueduct idea for a California- Western states water source is a big question mark for everyone because of the cost. Most everyone agrees the aqueduct is an answer if cost is not in the equation. The rivers of the Gulf coast are in flood from a marine cyclone blowing ashore today---several million acre feet will flow to the Gulf of Mexico. All of these rivers cross the I10 on their way to the Gulf. An aqueduct along I10 would be expensive to build and operate. But the route is through some of the largest renewable energy fields of the country. Wind and solar power is becoming increasingly cheap and Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, and California are loaded up with lots of that renewable power. The ancient civilizations built long aqueducts. We can do that as well. Folks in the desert southwest need to start building now before the taps run dry forever.

I think people around here tend to shy away from the more political topics like that (at least outside of the Off Topic section) but I did read your post and wanted to give a neutral acknowledgement that I did. We do have a few aqueducts here in California, running north-south giving us water from the Owens Valley, other parts of the Sierra Nevada and northern California as well (near Mount Shasta). Two aqueducts pass right through the Temecula Valley where I am, both of them underground and parallel to each other. Cooler today, at least by a little. I just drove back up from San Diego and had my window down the whole time, it was cool and breezy down there but warmed up around Escondido and northwards.
