Unrelated to the current weather, but something interesting: I dug up the minute-by-minute data from my weather station during the night of December 30th-31st, 2014 when rain transitioned to full-blown snow a low elevations here inland. The snow stopped falling sometime after 4 AM, everything after that was just snow slowly melting into the tipping bucket.

We had a great stretch of storms from late November until just after Christmas here in Socal, and the pattern abruptly shifted into a drier pattern since then. It is really starting to get boring now at what should be the wettest time of year for this area.

Nice to hear from you, Dan. It's been quite a while.
