Another 7 seconds gained in the afternoon. Morning was 46 seconds shorter.

If you can see the difference in the afternoon, you have very good eyesight.

Up in Deer Park, WA, the earliest sunset is on December 11 or 10 at 3:56PM! That city is right below 48° North latitude.

The further north you are, the closer the earliest sunset and latest sunrise are to the December Solstice.

On this day in 1938, it reached 100F in La Mesa - the highest recorded temperature on record for the month of December anywhere in the entire United States.

Wow, that is impressive. I would've expect somewhere like McAllen, TX or Laredo, TX to hit 100F in December at one point in the past,

The Santa Maria area is basically where it should be for it's time zone. On Winter Solstice, the Solar Noon is at 12:00PM.

Christmas is actually the day solar noon agrees with clock noon for Greenwich and all longitudes that are multiples of 15. That's when the Equation of Time is zero.

Some very light rain in Santa Cruz, Big Basin, and Mt. Hamilton areas. That moisture squeezed over the top of the blocking high from the big storms over Hawaii. There are still thunderstorms, over the open ocean, west of the island chain. This is  a case where aquariusradar could enrich the flow of water that the jet is currently moving over the ocean to central California. Targeting CN storms with microwave energy inhibits rainfall and keeps more water aloft at high altitude so the jet can sweep it eastward to the coast.

Most forum members might think this is crazy talk-aquariusradar, drought relief, microwave energy, etc. I hope by talking about the idea on this forum, some decision maker may hear about it and think it is an idea worth pursuing.
