Part II- January 2020 Obs and Discussion

2PM easterly gradient now sitting at -15mb, which is supposed to be around the peak (possibly getting to -17mb).

Yet the highest wind gust I see in the EPSL is Enumclaw at 36mph. Even a station that is fairly close to Snoqualmie Pass is only reporting a gust to 23mph as of an hour ago.

Gradient is tight but winds don't seem to be materializing yet. See if they catch up over the next hour or so.

Edit: Enumclaw station just updated and it's back down to 28mph.

The station on the valley floor in North Bend has ESE 7G16.

Its pretty close to calm here.

Barely any wind here... it was much windier last night.

A few snowflakes fluttering down but nothing that will accumulate.

Awesome. This is exactly what I've been talking about all week.

Models often overestimate the drying power of the East winds East of the Sound and that is exactly what seems to be happening with this system.

32/25 here with moderate snow and 1/4" new.

52F and dry but also blustery with partly cloudy skies.  Cloudier to the NW.  If one wasn't interested in the weather here, they would never know anything was all that different just a little ways to the north.

I for one am tired of the light snow/flurries we’ve had here off and on since last Friday. Either snow or get off the pot. About an inch of snow on the ground here in Redmond that has been here since Monday, much more in Bend. I heard today La Pine has about 20” and less as you go north as per usual. Culver has zilch. Sorry Josh.

Weather underground just changed totals to 1-3 inches for seattle when it was less than an inch about 2 hours ago.

Do they realize its about to end?
