February 2020 (It's cold at the end of the run!)

Literally has snowed decent all day today. Zero accumulation. Think we lost snow. Snowing hard right now. Not sticking.

It was snowing moderately b4 here as well, but has stopped now. No accumulation here also. Tbh, it was great watching it fall. Reminded you that it is still February.

Catch 'em on your tongue fatties flying here now but the only place they're sticking is old snow piles.

Heaviest (if you can call it that) here was 11:30-12pm just prior to going above freezing and beginning the melt. I scored 0.2" on my elevated deck. 'nuff said

Over achieving big time right now. Looks like another hour or two of moderate snow to go. We just might make a couple inches out of this.

In addition, it looks like the WAA band is coming together nicely east of MSP, that could be another nice overnight bonus.

Its looking likely. An overachiever for sure.

Clouds somewhat limited warming today, but still very nice out (upper 40s). Tomorrow has the potential to be much warmer, but the cold front may hit before temps can max out unfortunately.

Looking like some shots at snow , but nothing cold in the near future. Running out of time. March is coming soon.

Eh. I'm fine with it. This apartment is horribly ventilated and I'm moving out of this place this summer.

We have a shot at 70* tomorrow, but come Wednesday they're forecasting some snow and serious cold.

I can't doubt it, as we have the craziest weather anyway. I've been in shorts in the morning and dealing with ice and snow by dinner. So, who an am I question the weather gods of Texas? We' do have 1 more month of winter, anyway.

^^ love this. Pet peeve of mine is when your local news station says "only in Iowa" or "only in INSERT YOUR STATE" when huge weather changes happen in the same day like you posted. Hello- it happens in nearly all 50 states if not all of them.but news media likes to make YOUR location special compared to other locations.

I made a Facebook post about this a couple months ago.

Ugh, *insert your state here* has the craziest weather EVER like OMG"

I will say, I have lived all over the country and Nebraska takes the cake in that regard. I laugh when I hear someone from Ohio and Michigan say the weather is crazy. In Nebraska, it's somewhat normal to have a severe thunderstorm watch and a WWA at the same time.

More snow arriving by dawn as a WF lifts through the area. Then temps rise in the 40s and melts everything. It will feel real nice though tbh. Spring around the corner.

The GFS has two widespread rain events going into mid February.

I believe I said this around the 27th of Dec....Put a fork in it Winter is done...it will snow, we may even have a few highs in the teens, but there is no sustained winter, and in my book March is spring anyways.

No, I don't think winter is done.  NAO and AO will come crashing down in late March and the MJO will go decidedly into the cold phases.  You just have this feeling that is the scenario we're going to be dealing with.  Just when everyone is ready to be done with this miserable winter it will come roaring back to life!

While the GFS has two rain events (with snow in the far north) through 10-11 days, the Euro has no systems anywhere.

season snowfall: 34.8"

'22-23: 30.2"      '21-22: 27.1"      '20-21: 52.5"      '19-20: 36.2"      '18-19: 50.2"      '17-18: 39.5"

Happy Super Bowl Sunday!  What a day it will be to see the sunshine and temps sky rocketing into the low 50's and possibly setting a new record high.   I believe the record for the day is 52F at ORD.

Plans for today will include the following:

1) Gym
2) Grilling
3) Feasting

4) Football

Yes sir! As the WF lifted towards my area, a nice little burst came through once again early this morning (although, the other batch was heavier from yesterday) and added about another 0.30" to the snow dept.

Up to the low 40s now.  Snow cover really starting to compact.  Would expect to see some bare spots by this afternoon.  Guess we had our two weeks of winter for this year - until it comes again in late March, of course, just when everyone is ready for spring.  Maybe a Chiefs victory will pull me out of this funk!  Go Chiefs!
