Hawkeye
Looking at the water vapor loop, it's easy to see why this system didn't amount to much for much of the central US. It will be more impressive once it reaches Canada and that northern wave dives in behind it. 1 Quote season snowfall: 34.8" '22-23: 30.2" '21-22: 27.1" '20-21: 52.5" '19-20: 36.2" '18-19: 50.2" '17-18: 39.5" Average snowfall: ~30"

CentralNebWeather
Amazingly this heavy band was about 15-20 miles west of my house. So close yet so far. Our local radio station said we officially measured 2.1" with the band (I have also seen 1.8" reported) that came in from the Northeast in the late morning and early afternoon so at least we got that.
jaster220
Just measured 2.1" on my deck...surprised to even have that much. Took a look at the local radar loop and it hasn't stopped snowing since about 4:30pm yesterday which in my book is about as good of a win from this system as one could expect. Wow, you did alright over there. Due to a 7 hr lull in anything meaningful (04z-11z) I gained very little while I slept. Measured just 1.3" when I stepped out for work. Pretty disappointed in that tbh. Per my airport unit, it's been a pretty good stretch since 8 am tho, so there should be more to measure when I get home. Here in Jackson, the cars have perhaps an inch? And yeah, blowing everywhere here, driveway has anywhere from a quarter inch to well over 6. jaster220
Gonna run into OT per GRR: .UPDATE...Issued at 709 PM EST Wed Feb 26 2020I have extended the Winter Weather Advisory until 10 pm for theeastern two thirds of the previous advisory area. At 7 pm snowwas still falling at Kalamazoo, Battle Creek, Lansing and Jackson. Our hi resolution models suggest it may take until 10 pm for thesnow to end in Jackson. Looking at MDOT web cams and travelconditions on area roads and highways it`s clear the fallingtemperatures are increasing travel issues in those counties. Icould see another inch of snow falling in the I-69 area before itall ends around 10 pm or so.I do want to point out roads will become more icy tonight astemperatures continue to fall so even after the snow ends driverswill have to be very careful driving on area roads.I increased the pop and snowfall with the lake effect aftermidnight tonight as it is snowing on the Wisconsin side of theLake, that is usually a sign that more vigorous snow showersshould be expected on this side of the lake once winds turn morenorthwest from the current due north direction. Also the 18zNAMNESt shows decent lift in the DGZ into Friday morning. Withwinds in the boundary layer around 30 knots, that will carry thesnow bands well inland once winds are more northwest, which willbe true by midday Thursday. The bottom line is IT WILL SNOW. Noquestion in my mind about that. It`s more about how much. Don't think we'll get to level 3, which means that all roads are closed to non-emergency personnel. OH is the only state around here that does so many levels of snow emergencies. Seems like they're always triggering some of the lower ranking ones. I've seen snow emergencies in parts of the Mitt, but only during CAT-4 storms (or above ofc). Side/back roads are pretty much impassable by that point.
