This virus seems pretty novel.

I seen it snow three times already this Winter. I seen it with my own eyes.

I believe it's the same for me, maybe 4 times actually.

Pretty crazy how steadily the upcoming airmass has warmed the last several model runs.

It’s trying to change over here at 36 degrees now. Many places this morning have cooled down a couple degrees with the onset of precip.

It almost always happens, but it is still sad to see. 

 

There are actually lots of times where an airmass will stay more or less the same the last 72-96 hours or even cool a little in the home stretch. Especially a maritime polar one like this.

Wasn’t expecting to see wet snow this morning pretty cool. Lots of places have dropped down to 33-35 degrees and are seeing light wet snow accumulations...I guess you could call that over performance. We’re 100% snow now and 35 degrees.

GFS is struggling a bit I see. 

 

12z vs 06z. I don't expect these snow maps to be that accurate but this is kind of ridiculous in the 36 hr range.

I see snow falling in the northern coast range of Oregon. It is nice that we get one more cold system to track before this crappy winter ends.

06z and 18z were much snowier than the 12z and 00z runs in the last 24 hours, at least for the Portland area. Gotta wonder if there's a difference in the input.

over the Cascades Foothills, and 8 to 12 inches for the higher
Cascades. Snow level drops to 1500 to 2000 feet this evening,
then holds around 1000 feet later tonight, and then hold near
500 to 1000 feet Saturday and Saturday night.

* WHERE...Northern Oregon Cascade Foothills, Northern Oregon
Cascades, Cascade Foothills in Lane County and Cascades in
Lane County.

* WHEN...From 3 PM this afternoon to 6 AM PDT Sunday.

No accumulations but I’ve seen cars driving by with snow on them so it’s sticking close by...down to 34 and still snowing. Honestly surprised by this morning it’s been snowing for close to 2 hours now.

Wilsonville has to be one of the worst spots for snow in this whole area.

Amazing how fast the airmass is shown to moderate here this weekend. From 850mb temps of -11C Saturday morning up to 0c by Sunday evening.
