Didn't even hit 50F.  :)  Would love to get some cold anomalies in Dec-Jan down here again.

Seems like cold anomalies in mid-winter happen about as (in)frequently as major snowstorms in the lowlands. :)

Not even close. Getting cold anomalies in December or January is way easier than getting a major lowland snowstorm.

Getting within a degree below norm might not be super difficult, but the ones considerably cooler (-2 to -4) especially if it's more than one consecutive month like the nice stretch I had last Fall in Sep/Oct.

We've had -PNA and -EPO for almost a month and a half straight now. Imagine if this kind of thing set up in December or January.

Speaking of the lack of midwinter cold, Government Camp's lowest temperature this winter was just 14ºF, which is in near-record territory for lack of cold. The worst was 1999-00, which did not get below 16ºF. IIRC that was a really bad +AO / polar vortex winter as well.

2016-17 had a ton of mid-winter cold. I realize you weren't alive yet then but still. Not like it was all that long ago.

What a gem of a winter. Constant easterly flow, multiple ice storms and snow events, two bookend windstorms, and the incomparable 1/10/17. I’m surprised he didn’t remember, but I too get weather-blindness when I really want something. But I got my snow fix this winter

Yep, 16-17 brought several inches up and down most of the I-5 corridor that winter.

I was referring to the past winter only. I was not referring to 16-17, which was an epic winter. I have several great personal stories from events that winter. No need to be an assh*le.

Both of the December 2016 snow events started when I was in school and led to painful commutes home, I was in Sunriver around Christmas 2016 and saw the only subzero temps I’ve seen in my life, I happened to be on the coast on 4/7/17 when the windstorm came... great memories of that season.

I remember both of the 13-14 blasts well too. I can’t quite remember the March 2012 snow event but I do recall it being a very wet spring.

Did you see how dry the 00z is so far?

Pretty insane cold on the 0z GFS tonight.  Looks like we are going to put up some big minus departures even in the short term.

Usually I can pin the topics, but I don't see the option for that here.

Fairly dry and cold it appears.

I'm going with widespread -2.5 to -3.5 departures for the monthly averages.

Dude. It’s April 1. And models have generally trended way warmer for next week than what they were showing a few days ago.

Down to 31 degrees.

35 here.  I always seem to have a slower drop through the night instead of very fast early like a lot of people on here have.
