April 2020 Weather discussion for the PNW

Low of 39 this morning...coldest May morning here since 2013...when we hit 37 on 5/1. This is our first morning in the 30s since 4/13 also.

Monthly rainfall-3.56”

Warm season rainfall-11.14”

Max temp-88

+80 highs-2

+85 highs-2

Ended April with a 64/41 spread here. A little over a degree above average. Lows were slightly on the chilly side with highs on the warm side. Recorded 1.20”’of rain which is well less than half of normal. Saw eight days where the highs exceeded 70, and 14 mornings with lows in the 30s, including frost on 4 mornings.

Looks like PDX ended the month with a +2.2 departure. Average high 64.9 which is over three degrees above average, average low 44.1 which is a little above average.

Total rainfall .79”, which is 1.94” below average.
