Iowawx
Is it possible to tell if this storm is tracking further south or north than what models were showing? Stormhunter87
Is it possible to tell if this storm is tracking further south or north than what models were showing? Seems to me like it could be tracking a bit further north  than expected. This is actually going to be tricky because this first band sets the tone. The model play is the first band sits and then expands. It does look a touch north, but now thermals and dry air are the biggest factor. Dry air here is holding on but that band is expanding. snowstorm83
Update from OAX.... We're working on new snow accumulation expectations. There will still be heavy snow over southern half of the area, but it looks a bit too warm this afternoon to get 6" to stick in eastern Nebraska. Much will melt as it falls or lands. bud2380
based on mping reports, it looks like it isn't taking too long for the snow to overcome the dry air. Already snow reported east of Des Moines even though radar returns haven't been showing up for very long there.
Bryan1117
Wow, it is absolutely ripping down snow in my backyard in Southwest Omaha right now. Low visibility with fatties falling from the sky, with no wind. Getting the full snow globe effect outside right now. Looks like around 2 to 2.5 inches of snow has piled up on the deck and on grassy surfaces, and some snow is starting to stick on the driveway and sidewalks as well.
