Lincoln's dewpoint is 30º and Omaha's is 21º.  The precip should be snow.

Is it possible to tell if this storm is tracking further south or north than what models were showing? Seems to me like it could be tracking a bit further north  than expected.

This is actually going to be tricky because this first band sets the tone. The model play is the first band sits and then expands. It does look a touch north, but now thermals and dry air are the biggest factor. Dry air here is holding on but that band is expanding.

Update from OAX....

We're working on new snow accumulation expectations. There will still be heavy snow over southern half of the area, but it looks a bit too warm this afternoon to get 6" to stick in eastern Nebraska. Much will melt as it falls or lands. Ugh: Spring snow forecasts.

Just my take on this but the last wave(yesterday) tracked further north and over performed more than modeled so I don't see this being any different.

Good luck getting appreciable accumulations for another couple hours out there in Nebraska with the sun angle. I'm worried about that here tomorrow as well.

Looks like another 33 degree event here with minimal accumulation. April sun angle sure doesn't help either. Coming down moderately now, pretty flakes but slap the ground like rain.

Finally have a dusting on cars/roofs/grass. Radar looks good and an MCD is out for 1-2"/hr rates. Still going to be under forecast, but maybe not a total bust.

The latest HRRR has 0.20" of precip here tonight.  The timing, from 12-6am, is pretty ideal for max snow accumulation.

Wow, it is absolutely ripping down snow in my backyard in Southwest Omaha right now. Low visibility with fatties falling from the sky, with no wind. Getting the full snow globe effect outside right now. Looks like around 2 to 2.5 inches of snow has piled up on the deck and on grassy surfaces, and some snow is starting to stick on the driveway and sidewalks as well.

About to get slotted in Lincoln. This thing definitely ended up going north, OMA will probably end up with more than LNK. Hopefully it fills back in so maybe I can get 3-4".

A bright  yellow band on radar is parked over Omaha.  I wish I could see that in person.
