Sure looks like the areas between Des Moines and Iowa City are going to get the most rain out of this in Iowa.

You can start to see the interaction between the two systems on satellite now. Pretty cool to watch.  Full overcast here now. I'm thinking 0.5" or less.

Yes because the models that show us getting dumped on don’t show it as far west as it currently is.

heavy rain finally filling into Johnson County.  Totals should start to spike soon.  Glad I got my rain gauge out of hiding yesterday.

Up to .47” in Tiffin in a hurry. Shouldn’t have any issues getting over an inch and maybe closer to 2”.

Flash Flood Watch has just been expanded to include the Omaha metro, for 2 to 5 inches of rain coupled with 60 mph wind gusts later today and tonight! Wow!

 

Slight risk now encompasses both Omaha and Lincoln, with a 5% risk now for tornadoes. Needless to say it’s going to be a bumpy ride this evening and tonight.

The lack of humidity is just making the temperature skyrocket. 92.7*F at solar noon.

 

It's a very dry heat. It's 93 but it reminds me of the 93 degrees I feel when I go to SoCal.

The models that showed the intense band of rain lifting up through central Iowa were wrong.  Des Moines/Ames aren't getting much.

Around 0.94" here so far. More moderate rain moving in.

Should've said heavy rain as that's what it is. Probably nearing 1.25" now. Rain rates are around 1" currently in this band.

New record has been set at Muskegon with a current temperature of 92 between readings a temperature of 93 was reported and that sets a record. The old record was 90 set in 1968. At Grand Rapids the latest official reading is 89 with a DP of 63. The current record for the date here at GR is 93 set in 1964. Here at my house I have a reading of 94 with a DP of 62. Other readings in the area are 92 at Holland and 91 at Kalamazoo.

Kinda liking the recent radar returns. Raining north of Rochester now and the NW quadrant seems to be expanding a bit in coverage and intensity. I just want some decent rain for a bit. That's all I ask.

1.31" in Tiffin now.  Likely will get to 2".  I'm very happy with how this has turned out.

My total is approaching 1" and heavy rain just moved back in.  2" should not be a problem.  The only thing missing is thunder.
