Love steaming ground!

Forgot I had taken this picture yesterday when all of the surfaces were steaming! It was a lot more dramatic in person.

There’s been heavy showers in and around the south sound too...just not here! Sometimes my location gets nailed several times in a day...other times were on the sidelines watching the good stuff just a few miles away. It makes the times when we get nailed even more fun.

just wanted to clarify, by nice you mean cool and soggy? Basically no one’s definition Of nice.

I've been thinking. Maybe I should take a little survey. Ask the general population what kind of weather is preferable in June during the afternoon: 60ºF and cloudy, or 75ºF and sunny. Even better, maybe I should ask some fellow weather enthusiasts on my other forum.

Wonder what kind of responses I will get.

For June...70-75 and sunny with a light breeze!

Also a good soaking 2x per week, preferably at night.

Thursday it was 80F here in South Lake Tahoe so we took the boat out to DL Bliss. Today it is mid 40's with strong winds and off and on snow showers all day. I believe the last June snow at lake level that I can remember was back in 2011.

Popular Seattle weather twitter page had a poll just today. 54 and damp in this Washington or 81 and humid in DC.

1,600 votes. Seems pretty decisive.

Except its just weather geeks on there.

Hopefully this wet June is setting us up for another summer without choking in fire smoke. Last summer was so nice in that aspect after the disgusting air quality and milk white skies of 2017 and 2018.

precipanompast30days_6_1_20.png

Eastern WA and NE OR did very well for precip in May, as did the very fire-prone mountains in southern OR and northern CA.

We were definitely a none target!

Storm total .15

currently 52*

Yeah we only picked up 0.13” the past two days. Pretty decent soaking coming Tuesday though...should make up for us missing out the last couple days.

Got down to 49 here.

Nice shot this morning from Crater Lake NP. This reminded me of the view I had during the Dec 2013 arctic blast one morning.

Not everyone wants Scottish weather year-round. The thought of that probably gives you a tummyache, but it is true.

Relax.

No preferences or polls are gonna change what the weather does. Dry overcast days are pretty climo for June around here.

Yup this is why personal stations are important. Can't tell you how many times I've experienced flash downpours in t'storms and KLMT has something like 0.10" or less.

It’d be nice to get a few summers closer to climo like last summer was. Maybe last summer and this summer are the beginning of a change to more normal summers after the 2013-2018 period of hot ones.

Why can't it be 75 and overcast. It's done that before especially in convective patterns.
